I have all PVP gear. Some honor gear, conquest and war gear i bought with blood tokens. I want to queue for rated pvp but it keeps telling me my ilvl isnt high enough. How do I raise my iLvl? I figured being fully geared in PVP gear should have been enough-ish to get started. any advice?

Oh yeah his damage will absolutely skyrocket replacing that too.

Do i buy the weapon? Because all guides on YT for pvp said you can get your weapon for free. or is that just for rated players?

Yeah always buy an honor weapon since honor is an uncapped currency. Youll get a free weapon once you’ve earned 2500 conquest for the season.
If you really want to and dont mind wasting the bloody tokens, you can buy one of the weapons from the world pvp vendor. Get 1000 tokens from weekly quest and 100 per world quest done with WM on.
Also for easy conquest since you’re alliance, camp out in the world with WM on and get the resource crates that drop in regular intervals.

you can get conquest which is the rated currency from doing unrated and picking up all the pvp quests, also - don’t ignore world pvp quests & try and try and get the crates that drop because you also get bloody tokens which is it’s own line of ELITE pvp gear.

Is the gear you buy with blood tokens the best gear to get or is there something higher than that?
It could be bis depending on your stat priorities but its only 3 ilvls off of BIS so the difference between wpvp and conquest gear is negligible in pvp.
World pvp gear has some stat combinations that arent available from conquest vendor and vice versa.

Check out wow-head but look up currency items:
Honor < From pretty much anything PvP related
Conquest < Rated / Regular (In smaller amounts)
Bloody Tokens < World PvP

You’ll gain a lot of item levels by purchasing an honor or bloody token weapon.
Yeah, you’ll get a token in the mail that can be redeemed for a weapon although I’m not sure if Mage wants to craft one. Maybe later.
