Seem to be having a problem with Ratchet Guards where horde can attack alliance without aggro’ing the guards but if alliance try to defend themselves the guards will attack us. Please change this immediately since ya’ll also decided to put a vendor there that we are required to talk to for one of our runes.
Goblin guards are neutral and will attack anyone regardless of faction.
That explains the massacre I hid behind the buildings to avoid…
Not true, the ratchet guards infact are not doing anything to horde players, even if the horde initiate it.
Having watched a group of level 13 horde decimate every 20+ that walks into Ratchet while I was Shadowmeld on top of the bank for an hour… This is incorrect. The guards completely ignore horde.
In that case, it’s obvious that the goblins have been paid off to look the other way. Completely lore appropriate NPC behavior IMHO.
This is inaccurate. I’ve seen Ratchet guards attack both Horde and Alliance.
The problem is that Ratchet guard spawns aren’t triggering throughout the town when PvP happens; they’ll only engage when you’re near a visible bruiser, who only exist on the outskirts of town (and one by the inn).
That’s how it should work. But if you reread the post, they’re claiming that it’s not working like that and it should be fixed so that it does work like that.
There are safe spots you can attack and not get guard aggro. People are just exploiting these WELL KNOWN spots.
They attack both factions. You just have to be attacked near a guard, and there don’t seem to be many guards near the flight master.
What is likely happening, is people are getting killed, and then horde set themselves up near a guard so that when you rez and go in for the rematch, they run to the guard and you get killed again. That’s pretty funny if this is what’s happening. I’m gonna go do this.
Sounds like the goblins are being paid off by the Horde again, Warcraft 1&2 coming back in MMO form.
This is just clever foreshadowing to the goblins joining the horde
I can also confirm as a alliance I hung out next to the guard and when horde attacked me the guard chased and killed the horde.
HOWEVER Horde or Alliance have to be pretty close to those npcs for them to attack the player that’s used an ability for damage.
Ratchet is just a prime spot for some Wpvp, avoid guards and pvp it out.
I mean, there’s a reason they join the horde
Also, ratchet needs more guards. I have business to take care of.
Ratchet (goblin) guards won’t protect you from pvp unless you’re at least Friendly status with them, yes even for Horde.
Doesn’t reputation with Ratchet come into play? If the Horde player is friendly and the alliance player is neutral, wont the guards only attack the alliance player? Since more Horde quest on that area than alliance, more Horde are likely friendly.
This was it.
It’s this, Horde are just more experienced with knowing which areas are safe from guards, seeing as how Ratchet is a questing hub for anyone level 10+, so they get familiar with it real quick.
Also this is true, the range in which the guards will help you actually increases if you go from neutral to friendly, etc. It’s like “preferred status” lol, which is cool.
