Rastakhan's death and

They signed up for whatever that was coming to them by joining the Horde.
Just like the Kultirans whom are now being attacked by the Horde and Zandalari.

Why not? i am going to tell you what horde players have been saying to me about jaina.
He was attacked because he chose a side. he attacked boralus twice, he keep in his vault the abyssal scepter that the horde stoled from kultiras, and has been giving sanctuary to the horde who uses the place as base of operations. actively helping sylvanas in her genocidal campaing.

Like horde players told me in the past “He got what he deserved”.
But hey, to be fair, this is what blizzard wanted.
“war is heck, bad things happens to good people”.

Okay this long post is probably completely pointless but I love analyzing characters. So here goes.

Jaina is arguably the most consistent character in all of warcraft.

She started out as a naive, smart young woman that was both raised by a prideful, racist father that would forever hold a grudge for the second war, and Antonidas, a genius open minded teacher looking to cure the horde before his death by the scourge. Jaina has always been told to fear the orcs, but also taught to keep an open mind and had the honour of fighting along side Thrall and seeing that the horde could be good.

And then her father showed up and his blind rage, hate and sorrow wouldn’t allow him to make peace. So Jaina made the logical choice to let him die. Logical yes, but he was still her father and seeing him die at the horde’s hands would stick with her.

She then spent all of vanilla up to cata trying to get two unbelievably stubborn leaders to work together and NEVER got them to agree on anything because they were too prideful and resentful of each other.

Relationships strained further and further and then her friend Thrall, her friend, decided to put Garrosh in charge. Garrosh then started to push harder and harder, the alliance aggressively pushing back and putting Jaina in an impossible situation where her city was then used to send aid/forces.

Her home was annihilated for it.

In her grief and rage and mana exposure, she tried to wipe out the horde in a blind rage only to be talked out of it when she stopped seeing red. Having no home, she was offered to stay in the Kirin Tor as their leader due to her expertise. She let the horde in but was iffy about them when suddenly she found out elves betrayed the golden rule of Dalaran and used a portal to take a doomsday weapon with the express intent of using it. Seeing as no elf could be trusted, she flew into lockdown mode and rounded up anyone associated with it only to be yelled at by Chin-Mom who was furious that she interrupted his unknown plans. Feeling betrayed, hurt and insulted, she was basically told to do nothing until King Chin could fix things. Jaina was angry, petty and kept waiting for comeuppance but never got it. Then the trial happened, she got shot and Thrall saved her or something (I’ll admit I freaking hate having to read books for lore…) So she softened somewhat I guess.

She was then stripped of her spot in the Kirin Tor, had the greatest mage in the world tell her to stand down and that everything that happened doesn’t matter because “Friends!” so she stormed off waiting for another betrayal.

Which then everyone in the alliance believed happened because Sylvanas. Jaina has an I told you so but no one believes her and she’s at her wits end and just cries to daddy that she has no idea what to do anymore. So she goes to Kul’Tiras and low and behold they want her executed for being a terrible person and she basically gives up on life.

This girl has had such a roller coaster life, there’s a reason she hates the horde and will never forgive them, but also just can’t stomach death anymore.

So yeah, I dunno, I think she’s the best written character but eh shrugs

Well, he did go and get mixed up in the Horde, even if reluctantly. And the Horde destroys everything it touches, friend and foe alike.

Setting aside innumerable atrocities against the Alliance, and Azeroth in general: The Horde destroyed Garrosh. It destroyed Cairne. It destroyed Vol’jin, because some shadowy power behind the curtain has plans for Sylvanas. Facing the true nature of the Horde broke down Thrall from the World Shaman who defeated Deathwing, to just some guy in a smock who can’t even use a hammer. It took one of the greatest heroes and rallying points of the Horde, and made him rather rot in an Alliance cell than take part in the Horde’s actions. The Horde is tearing itself apart again, on the verge of its second civil war in what… four or five years? Rasrakhan opened up his home to genocidal monsters, and, eventually, the protagonists came looking for them.

The only thing I pity about Rastakhan’s situation, is that it’s him that has to pay for Talanji’s mistake.

Well, yea, he did choose a side and have been giving the Horde forces shelter, so that’s fair I guess. Even though it was done for the purpose of getting help from invading blood trolls who worshiped an Old God that would have turned the planet into the festering ground for every worse disease imaginable.

But, hey, maybe they should have gone to ask aid of the Alliance instead of the Horde!
…oh wait. Who’s prison were they in again for an unknown length of time?

And if we’re using the excuse of “War is hell, bad things happen” then why are we all still so upset about the bombing of Theramore?

PS: Yes we did take the Scepter from Boralus, but who possessed it at the time we did? Right. Old God minions.

To be fair, rasthakan really didn’t had much of a choice.
can this be attributed to his incompetence to lead and let zul do what he wants attacking everyone?

and ignoring the blood troll problem until it escalated to the place where it is right now?

i don’t know, maybe they should have tried with the alliance also or don’t going with a criminal like zul?

if talanji was captured without a reason then yes, this would be the alliance’s fault.
but she was trying to ask the horde for help while knowing that they were at war with the alliance.
So the alliance attack is talanji’s fault, not rasthakan since he didn’t really wanted the horde in the first place.

old god minions? nope, it was proudmoore forces.
The old god problem had been taken care of at that point.

They had Telanji in the Stormwind Stockades for some time. Long enough for King Anduin to venture down and have a chat with someone who wasn’t stupid. Telanji would have tried to negociate their release or, maybe, get help from the Alliance even. Perhaps if she heard what Sylvanas had done to Teldrassil maybe she could have been persuaded that the Horde wasn’t to be trusted?

A sadly missed “What if” that was sadly missed by the Alliance. But then again, they’re not exactly geniuses at making friends, or at least avoiding making easily avoidable enemies.

OH WAIT!!! Except…the Horde WERE trustworthy (GasP) seeing as they helped stop Zul from completing his takeover in one zone, stopped the Blood Trolls in a second zone, and exposed a conspiracy from a corrupt general in a third zone (while also saving the Vulpera from slavery). They pretty much did everything Telanji wanted them to do when she left to get help in the first place.

Why again should they not join the Horde?

As for Zul, pointless to bring up his criminal activities since he was a criminal in the eyes of the Horde as well as the Alliance.

No, they weren’t. Go play the Horde war campaign. The Tidesages you fight to get to the scepter are all corrupt followers of Azshara and when you do retrieve the scepter, void critters and a Jr Cthulhu come out to stop you.

okay then, even if this is true, can you still deny that it was used in the benefit of the horde war effort when it destroyed 3 ships?

i don’t know, maybe because they were at war with the alliance?
choosing a side comes with a risk. and they did helped the horde.
we can see them attacking anglepoint in the alliance war campaign.

Nope, that part’s true. I saw my character raise the scepter himself and set three ships on fire with lightning. It was pretty awesome.

So, by this logic, if Katherine had told you “Get lost, we don’t want to get involved” even after helping across the zones of Kul Tiras, that would have been acceptable. Good to know!

And you still haven’t answered my question. If “It’s War, bad things happen” is a valid reason in Dazar’Alor, then why are people still losing their cool about Theramore?

Hey, a slightly rude remark to Thalyssra is apparently justification for Night elf genocide, so it’s only natural that dirty looks will ellicit so powerful a response.

He hadnt joined the Horde. We were still trying to convince them to join. But thanks to Alliance stupidity they joined the Horde fully.

Whats more every troll tribe shows up for his funeral Rastakhan was highly respected and loved by all Trolls. She likely just pissed off every Troll on Azeroth well done.

I wonder if this means Amani and Sandfury trolls around the docks will stop being hostile to Horde players.

Probably not.

i mean it was her decision and she would have to deal with the consequences.
She would have to deal with the horde alone how that could have ended?
Would the horde keep attacking if the alliance didn’t tried to make them join ? or they would just ignore them?

Atrocity vs a battle also, it was followed by an act of unnecessary cruelty (prisoners tortured in orgrimmar)

Blizz should use this as an opportunity to unite all the Trolls under the Horde in the form of a new allied race.

Choose between Frost Sand and Forest trolls (like Maghar Orcs).

Amani are still justified in hating blood elves.

I don’t know. Maybe. It could be that Sylvanas might have thought them not worth her time if they had spurned the alliance, and ignored them.

Well…ignored them for a while anyway. Eventually she would have come back to make them all Forsaken. (something Zandalari is in danger of as well if Sylvanas gets her ultimate victory)

The point was that it would have been pretty lousy for Katherine to do that. Within her rights to avoid getting involved in a war, sure, but lousy all the same. Same if Talanji had spurned the Horde after their help.

How is it an atrocity? Because they used a big bomb instead of battling it out? Does that mean you think Americans committed atrocities whenever they used bombs in WWII?

Theramore was a legit military target that was feeding troops into the South Barrens and putting pressure on the tauren. Taking it out was a legit move. One can argue that Garrosh saved a lot of Horde lives by using a bomb the same way Truman saved American lives by using atomic weapons.

To each their own political ideal with it comes to using WMDs though.

Really? Interesting. People usually just complain about the bombing.

That would be cool. We have so many elves now, a couple more trolls would be legit. In the end though I’ll be happy to simply see Zandalar trolls become playable.

We are used to inner strife. Also some Forrest trolls have forgiven them already its not unlikely the Amani could do so as well in light of recent events. The insult inflicted by the Alliance is far more egregious and recent.

The Alliance basically took a dump on the holiest Troll site on Azeroth and killed the most powerful and respected troll of the last two centuries. They probably killed more than a few of the other troll representatives as well seeing as they charged right up the embassy.

This was a major slight to all troll kind.

Except when we see troll speakers insult the Zandalari for having a decaying empire that opened its borders. You’re more likely to see a split from the Amani.

Thats kinda my point. They were that mad just because we were allowed to walk in the city. Imagine how pissed they would be after seeing Troll blood spilled and their temples desecrated.

Then have the Vol’jin and the Loa appear before each tribe to convince them all to join and I think you could swing it story wise.

How is that different from the normal state of affairs? Trolls always hate Alliance races.
