Please, players place a map pin where a rare is located if it does not pop up on the map automatically? It’s amazing how many players say: Such and Such is up. Okay, where. I haven’t memorized each rare yet out of about 20 of them. Please be kind to players by placing a Map Pin when you find a Rare that can’t be seen on the main map. Thank you. Peace

Please explain further. What is the addon called?
Theres an addon I used called RareScanner (I believe at least)
Though I still call and mark them the rares for everyone who doesnt rely on addons!

The addon is called: macro I got from the mmochamp forums.
- Rarescanner (or silver dragon)
- Handynotes (whatever the expansion/zone is)
- Tomcats tours

Even with notification, if youre not in the same quarter of the map, its unlikely youll get there in time.

If I’m at the far North and the Map Pin shows at the far South end, I make it about half the time. Half is better than nothing.

Youre quicker than me! I miss em all the time.
I use TomCat’s Tours. It tells you their spawns and if they’re being engaged by other players. I believe it also shows chests and if they’ve been looted recently as they despawn after little bit. overall it’s a great addon.

The absolute worst is when you use an ability (and it goes on cooldown and animation visually connects) but you don’t get a tag.

Happens A LOT. Heck i was killing one of the birds, tagged it while it was 50% health and stayed there killing it, only to be told by the game i hadnt tagged it.
Rare scanner is great so long as you remember to toggle it off when not hunting rares or it will drive you nuts.
Sometimes these addons will break your heart. Just ask me what it’s like to get the Time Lost Proto-drake notification when you’re on a flightpath.

Don’t know. May be we’re not talking about the same thing. Today a Map Pin was placed. I showed up but there was another Rare that showed on the map. I guess everyone was at the other one, cause I was alone. By the time other’s started to show up the pin was gone, so I placed it back. I wasn’t the one that place the pin to start with. shrug
thats on you, the rest of us take advantage of addons.

Tell me, what is so hard about placing a Map Pin and then shift click on it?
nothing… i have an addon that handles that too. all i do it target the rare and hit the announce button, it posts to chat with a map pin. But again, why is it my responsibility to ensure you know where to find the thing?
