If a rare spawn has a reset timer of 24-36 hours, how does that affect the first spawn after a server reset? Do you have to wait 24 hours for it to have a chance to spawn within that window, or is it random chance immediately after server reset and then 24-36 hours after first kill? anyone know?
Rare spawns will respawn as soon as the server comes back online after a restart.
I don’t think this is necessarily true in classic for all rare spawns
This is completely false.
This is incorrect. I’ve tested this theory multiple times myself. A rare spawn will spawn whenever it’s spawn timer allows, regardless of maintenance or restarts.
Kylok,
So are you saying the spawn timer just continues regardless of server resets?
As far as I can tell, yes. This, of course, assumes that servers act the same now as they did years ago. As a hunter I would hunt several rare mobs for taming, and I would log on as soon as a scheduled 8 hour maintenance completed in hopes of finding the rare. Often times I would find that the rare didn’t respawn at all. Then, even though the rare mob was on a 12 hour respawn timer, it would spawn two or three hours after restart. I concluded that most, if not all, rares will continue to follow their respawn timers regarding of any restarts or maintenance.
Well crap, woke up early af in hope that this was going to be a good day. Broken Tooth, you win again.
