After the recent fiasco of new evokers unfairly getting mounts that people have been farming since they released, I believe the only right apology to these people would be to make all of the rare Mount drops that people farm guaranteed after a certain amount of attempts. And not some insane number like 5k attempts. More like 300-500 or something. So you still have to put in effort but if you have bad luck it doesn’t take 10 years for a Mount you probably won’t even use in the end. I’d be a lot more willing to go for Mount collecting if most of them actually had good drop chances. If you ask me this really puts into perspective how scummy these drop chances are they’ve had going for the past 10+ years. And if they aren’t able to do that then atleast increase the drop chance to like 3-5%. What do you guys think?
What other mounts are you thinking about that on average require 5000 kills? Most other rare mount drops are near 1%
I have a lot of rare mounts and I think increasing the drop rate of all of them to 3-5% would be fine.
People are estimating that 3-5% is the new drop rate for the world boss mounts.
I got galleon and nalak this week… so i think it’s pretty solid.
1% doesn’t mean it takes 100 attempts. I know people that have been farming 1% drop mounts for over 5 years. It’s crazy when you really think about it.
If you want good rewards then you need to put in the effort

Btw, Blizz did recently state they increased the drop chances of the mounts Evokers were getting easily. Probably just damage control for the screwup, but hey, there you go. It’s something.
Now they just need to reintroduce mounts they took out. 
People have put in more effort then they ever should have to. And the fact that they have for so long and yet blizz didn’t even bother giving them the Mount after this issue happened it really is insulting.
blizzard wants you to waste time grinding because they want the active player count and that’s why these mount drops won’t change honestly, I would prefer they don’t hide mounts behind surplus reputations with terrible %, and I don’t think any item should have a drop chance below 1% but they need you coming back for something sadly

also blizzard probably gets a pretty big chunk of cash from people buying wow tokens to buy rare mounts like mim’s head on the BMAH
RNG isn’t perfect but they have to keep putting in the effort. There is no other option.

They DID increase the drop rate on those mounts to ~3-5%. This thread is pointless. I had 4000+ attempts on that mount, and got it the day after the nerf on my 20th attempt.
Luck /= effort. There is not a single rare drop mount in this game that requires effort. They only require luck. The only time a mount requires effort is when they are 100% drops from achieves from current content.
That’s the irony. Only 100% chance mounts in this game are the ones that actually require effort.

no, it was changed from .1% to .5%, if these mounts were 3-5% a lot more ppl wouldn’t be farming them because they would have got it a long time ago
Requires? Luck means that some people get it on the first attempt, which is zero effort, while others level alts and farm bonus rolls for many years and still don’t have it. It’s definitely not a matter of work input proportional to rewards received.
There is always another option.
It was changed this week. And a lot of people are getting it and taking their alts home. You rarely heard of anyone getting it before this week. Now it’s common.
There are plenty of mounts in the game that are still sub 1% and even with this increase less than 1% of profiles have any of them still. Most of them are over 5 years old too so it’s not like people haven’t put in the time to deserve them. I think after an expansion is 5 years old the mounts shouldn’t be so hard to get.
I was responding to the player who was confused. He got the drop rate % change and the date of the change wrong.
