Raptor mount you had to raise?

One of my better memories from WoW was a raptor mount you had to raise from a baby by doing dailies, like feeding him, this was on an older account that I have since lost. I think it may have been WoTLK era. I remember feeling so happy when I could finally mount it.
I would love to do this again now, but I can’t find the mount on wowhead, anyone have an idea?

I’m kind of conflicted about this one (and the Winterspring Frostsaber). I think it’s a really neat idea, and I did enjoy it, but 20 days was such a monumental commitment.

I finished them both, but it took years…

There are also 4 mounts that you do this way from Legion!

This is the nerfed grind. It used to to take much, much longer. And if i’m not mistaken the venomhide horde thing didn’t even exist. they added it at the same time? as they nerfed winterspring.

Wow, really? What did it look like in the first iteration? I must have never known, because I did the Horde one first.

It was like a 6 month grind or something. I think the 3 repeatable? dailys only rewarded <100 rep. something miniscule. and you only unlocked the 3rd quest when you were honoured I think. its been a long time. So it took forever. It was buffed in tbc and wotlk, and then changed to match the new raptor mount in cata. Before then only the alliance had a special mount :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, we cherish something we paid effort and grew together. It is however we have so many things stripped away when new expansion arrives.

It feels empty and we become callous.

I loved this quest. It’s called “They grow up so fast”
I had a blast doing this. Also in BFA you can farm an egg by killing raptors. The name of the Pterrodax is Kuafon. Raise him in 30 days. Ground mount. But once 8.2 hits he can fly.:hugs::clinking_glasses:

I remember that quest chain. I also remember attacking a ravasaur unarmed to unlock an achievement. Does anyone remember what that achievement was? I believe I did that was in Un’ goro also.
