I’ve had this issue for months. It is annoying but not as annoying as being unable to actually play a character.
Not for me. I disabled all and did a full UI reset. Still disconnect.
TBH i see players who are enjoying the game without any issue
I’m east coast and logged in right now. No problems on Area 52 that I’ve seen so far. Pings are 30/30. I’ll leave the client up for an hour or so to see if I get any random DCs
Ran a trace route, can’t post it because it has server addresses which the forums think are links, but things go wonky after getting into ATT’s backbone. Verizon hands off to Alternet who then hands off to ATT in DC. It’s really hard to be sure, most ISPs drop ICMP packets and MPLS tunnels are invisible to Layer 3. If I had to guess, one or more ISPs thinks that all connections to Blizzard are part of a DDOS and is dropping them.
- When I get disconnected sometimes my game goes black screen, preventing me from selecting another character with only some parts of the UI available but not clickable.
- When I try to restart after being disconnected sometimes I can’t interact with NPC’s and objects
- DC’s around 10-50 seconds maximum on characters with lvl 70 and in guilds
- I am stuck in Orgrimmar, I can’t get portals to any other maps, the loading screen goes half way or around 70% and automatically exits the game.
I don’t know if anyone has already reported these errors here too, but I’m posting this in case it helps (I play on a Mac - Area 52)
Exact same happens to me
Copy and paste it into the post then highlight the whole thing. Use the “preformatted text” button on the post box.
Looks like this </>
That puts your WinMTR inside a special box that won’t be rejected by the forums and is easy to view/scroll.

Update from earlier post of mine. Still getting kicked withing 30 seconds over entering. BUT my non guilded characters are fine.
Started for me last night with the DCs happening roughly every 20-30 seconds. Logged on this morning and still experiencing the same issues on my main which is in a guild. When I logged onto a non guild, level 60 alt I was able to without the DC issue. Also a Mac user.
Last night was a disconnect about every 30 mins, today I can’t get on for more than 5 mins at a time. Minus Blizz’s vague twitter post, some sort of update or information would be helpful. This seems to be very widespread.
Having the same problem here. Game is unplayable. All characters get disconnected shortly after logging in - within 30 seconds or so. Tried using Dalaran hearthstone to get out of the area. Disconnects at the end of the loading screen every time.
Same issues. Addons disabled, client scanned, can’t remain connected for more than 20 seconds.
20 seconds here
Second game breaking bug I have experienced this season. I play since cata, had never seen such problems. Last one took me out of the game for 2 weeks. Hope this one gets fixed sooner.
Still happening for me on illidan (Disabled add ons, scanned game and re installed) same issue still
Disabling chat altogether seems to have worked to prevent the disconnects for me.
Was logged in for 45 minutes or so and didn’t experience any DCs on Area52. I saw the same dozen or two people around the AH that whole time as well, none of them randomly vanished that I could see, other than ones running to a mailbox for 30 seconds and then logging off (looked like organic logouts based on what they were doing)
If the network routing quality is normal, leading the server, I suggest people start looking into firewall settings. There could be specific things the client needs to send or receive at some fixed interval and if a firewall is blocking one of those directions, then you’ll get the boot. Check for both Wow.exe and WowVoiceProxy.exe as I think both have to be able to talk with the server or you get booted or deal with brokenly long loading screens while it waits for the voice to timeout.
As stupid as this sounds, ive been DCing after 20 seconds since yesterday. I turned off my PC and it fixed it. been online now for about 30 mins and no DC issues
