I feel as though I have a better chance at getting a rare mount from a boss then actually getting this to drop…
Anyone else feel this way about certain things?
My druid got it easily after a few, just keep at it. Sometimes you just keep rolling consecutive bad rolls.
It was a flawed rank system to begin with. I still have Empyrium Seam ranks 2 and 3 after >_<
Last couple of weeks I spent spending on getting R3 Legion Herbalism and Alchemy recipes. Some of those were insane and even with hours of herbing, I still ended up buying a ton of herbs.
Almost done, but holy hell that was some RNG.

I dropped mining for blacksmithing for this exact reason.
Quicker to farm or buy every rare pattern in BS than it was getting the last of the rank 3 seams. You shouldn’t be able to play an entire expansion start to finish and not have the rank 3 for every recipe.
Sadly I can’t/won’t do that. I’ve had BS since BC and have everything you can get in it. I just have to grind out the 240 Marks of honor from PVP for my PVE ITEMS…

Personally i have a better chance at getting a boss to drop a rare mount than i do at getting gear thats useful and/or an improvement upon what i have. got both the hellfire citadel and blackrock foundry mounts to drop in the same week… the very first time i ran them. wasn’t even running them for the mounts. just heard it was good gold (it was). honestly didn’t even realize either dropped a mount.
meanwhile, my warlock, two months ago (when i thought i might switch from this toon to her as my main) went through several dungeons (heroics, mythics, and timewalking) and three difficulties of Nyalotha (obviously NOT mythic. heroic i was just there as the token summoner and cookie slave. they wouldn’t let me bring my DK for that reason) and STILL couldn’t get a staff or other gear. i did get a dagger. but thats useless without an off hand… i pretty much gave up on her and she was relegated back to alchemy/inscription slave. heck, at this point i’m barely doing that. maybe log onto her once in a while to transmute herbs to anchor weed or do some milling to make pigments to sell on the AH.
I’m notorious in my guild for my good luck with mount drops, and terrible luck with gear drops. still haven’t gotten my two most coveted mounts though: invincible and ashes of Alar. but i’ll get them eventually.
