Rank 3 essence locked on alt ? tips to unlock?

I just finished getting the rank 3 ripple in space on the main. I purchased it and equipped it.

I went to an alt to try to purchase it on mother and it says locked. Neither toon is 60 yet if that matters in the new scaling. I tried logging in and out a few times, logging out of the game altogether. I don’t have the rank 1 on the alt yet (trying to work on it just in case that’s the reason, but it will take a while)

Is there any way for me to get MOTHER to unlock that essence for the alt? The only threads I’m finding are in the very beginning of the system.

I believe you have to do them in order rather than just skipping ahead to Rank 3.

Thank you, this would be in regards to MOTHER supposed to be selling the rank 3s to alts in exchange for echoes of nyalatha, in order to avoid having to farm them all the way up again.

I wish the HoA was worth wearing in DF. We’re back on Azeroth, right?!
Just scale it up in item level – I don’t want to farm new essences just want it to not be the Nth paperweight in my bags.

If you upgraded to rank 3 on your main and logged in and out. It should show. It worked 2.5 years ago when were buying essences. I’d wager new unlocks for alts got broken with dragonflight, existing essences should still work (I should try to finish out an essence library on an old alt to see).

I’m glad that they kept it available for at least another expansion. I hope they leave it in the game since BFA is sort of becoming the “official” 1-60 experience. I understand that they can’t leave these old progression systems viable for end game but it would be nice to leave the systems intact to experience during leveling, timewalking, or if you like certain traits for older content (longstrider). Really no reason not to leave the systems intact as long as you don’t make it endgame.

Eternal Palace essences have been broken like this for me prior to DF prepatch. Have had a ticket in for 40 days now with absolutely no meaningful progress.

I’m having this issue with Rank 3 Nazjatar essence. I can’t even buy the essence from MOTHER on the exact character with Rank 3

Edit: Workaround that worked for me:

• When I just learned the Rank 3 Nazjatar essence (Essence A) it did not appear for alts.
• When I learned a new Rank 3 essence (Essence B) the previous Rank 3 Nazjatar essence (Essence A) now appeared for alts (but the new Rank 3 essence (B) did not).
• By learning another Rank 3 essence (Essence C), Essence B became available for alts (But, not Essence C)

TL;DR: Try learning a new R3 essence (not a duplicate) on the original character with the R3 essence you want to pass to alts to see if the previous ones now appear for alts

An easy Rank 3 Essence to get is the Crucible of Flame from the Investigating the Highlands quest from Kalecgos in the Chamber of the Heart. Your Heart of Azeroth needs to be level 60 to unlock it. As soon as my main learned another rank 3, the Ripple in Space Rank 3 became available to purchase.

Just saw this. I now have an army of alts (~10) that learned the essence the hard way so many of them will be able to get the easy crucible rank 3 to try this to try and pass on to the remaining ones.

Got a routine going, but it was… painful
