They need to add like +10% damage to enemy players on them or something.
Make R15 a thing, give the weapons a on hit or on use effect, then give it a “glorious tyranny” enchant.
They just needed to make a new r14 set of armor that had some pvp required set bonuses.
As well as new weps that either did crazy good stuff in pvp or just had = stuff to aq weps and the reworks they got.
Extra stam doesn’t matter if you hit like a noddle and get chunked faster then you can chunk someone in pve gear.
Dark Edge of Insanity was better than R14 weapons in original classic too, not sure why this is surprising to some people.
With that said, the new Blood Moon rewards are looking quite nice.
Sounds like you know what you gotta do. See you in Naxx gamer.
Na. I’m probably done when fresh hits. Been done for a while outside of the 3 day thunderaan lockouts.
yes but not massively better.
Now it’s very far ahead.
Then you could get r14 months b4 aq. Plus axes were poop.
Counterpoint, its not like its hard to get any of the pve gear either(and the raids are like a 1 hour once a week timesink except for zandalar trinket bc its locked behind exalted)
also, theyre somewhat free, soooo
Pve gear is also somewhat free.
Doing a 20man raid with 21+ makes it easy.
Less effort to get gear.
Ranking requires way more effort.
theyre buffed and have the best pvp stat, stamina. Making them overpowered would then make ppl feel like they had to PVP which would be terrible in SoD because PVP is terrible in SoD.
It was great in TBC because PVE and PVP were both fun in TBC. SoD’s pvp is the worst balanced version of WoW’s pvp to ever exist since 2003 beta.
pvp sucks because you have to pve to pvp because pvp gear is a joke compared to tier bonus. SOD damage is way to high for a little stam buff to even matter.
No one is asking them to make the weps do exact same damage as pve weps.
They need to be buffed in damage and have a better effect like the AQ weps got.
Stam is fine but doesn’t matter when the pve gear is going to still nuke faster and faster and the stam on the pvp gear means little to nothing.
the stamina is quite substantial, and in battlegrounds its very effective at keeping you alive
while some classes have mandatory bonuses on their tier, its not always the case. Resilience was a boring stat too but it is what make you win PVP. In SoD, its stamina.
But, you still need to compare apples to apples. Being a warrior that does no damage in pvp situations fighting against a boomkin that can typically kill you 5x over before you hope to maybe kill them once because of massive damage-in and damage-out disparities due to 0 balance wont get better by stacking stamina. But the boomkin or rogue with stamina gear will have a good advantage over another boomkin or rogue because its apples to apples.
On the community sims that the devs reference, a shadow priest and fury warrior sim within 2% of each other. On WCL, they are basically tied with Spriest overall ahead a couple percent. On those same sims, remove non-class buffs and now the shadow priest does 300% the warrior’s damage. Meaning in pvp the warrior could have naxx bis and the priest is in molten core gear and Spriest wins by default if he’s not afk. So, a lot of people just don’t PVP anymore.
No the stamina is not substantial because we’re literally in sod right now with full R13 vs Full PVE and you can see the difference. I have 3 alts fully geared in both and the PVE gear is way better. Some class/specs can mix and match but if you don’t PVE full time you will not be close to BIS for pvp
youre looking at over 50% more hp if youre wearing pvp gear compared to tier 2 on some classes… most armor pieces have 20 to 30 more stam, and like 40 on the wpn, 15+ on offpieces if youre also going for those.
doesn’t matter the set tier bonus and sods comical damage negates the stam. It would need to be tripled to be effective.
The only real problem with PvP gear in SOD are the outdated set bonuses, the high stamina is pretty mandatory, at least for Warrior.
Silithus has been a giant PvP warzone lately with lots of opportunities for 1v1s and outdoor PvP and the other day some Warrior with Ashkandi and what looked like mostly T2(the red DPS version of Wrath) opened up on me while killing twilight mobs and I completely destroyed him with about half my health bar left, he was squishy AF. Warriors in full PvE DPS gear have like 4.5k health in the open world, that is nothing. I can only imagine how quickly he’d get deleted by a good Rogue whereas I can sometimes beat them with enraged regeneraton and trinket up but even with 7.3k health the Rogue usually wins(funny how rogues get 2.5k instant armor penetration from a book but Arms get 0 but lets not get OT) unless I get a string of lucky crits + an intercept stun off.
With the R14 weapon and the new Blood Moon off-pieces my warrior will have 8.3k in WPvP, 9.5k with Flask. Like, there’s no way someone is gonna tell me that T2/T2.5 is gonna be better than that for PvP, especially with Blood Moon coming up.
I don’t see a problem with the updated R14 weapons, we’re basically back to previous status quo; dark edge is still better because of the gauge while R14 weapons hits for more and brings lot of stam; R14 weapon only needed an ilvl/optimization update like most of the updated items in SoD.
Adding gimmicks was never the intent, same goes for RNG procs that causes peak damage, those are considered PvE based procs since procs are seen as OP in PvP due to burst damage (they really are).
