Rank 11 mounts

I’m not sure if its been discussed here or not…but this is not how the epic mounts worked in vanilla. I first though something was weird buying my mount at 60. I could have sworn the mounts themselves were cheap, but it was the epic riding skill that was expensive. Whatever, no big deal. But now that I have access to the officer’s quarters and looked over the mounts I’ve noticed that you now need specific riding skills for each one. I know this was not the case back in the day. I was a human rogue riding a ram, and i know for damn sure I didn’t turn in a billion runecloth to ride it. Anyone else remember this differently? Has there already been clarification on this?

I think the change came in at 1.12.

Regardless Blizzard came out and said they were switching it back to how it orginally was, which is how it is now in Classic, as a hold sink.

You had to learn each differently.

There were some changes in patch 1.12.1 https://wow.gamepedia.com/Patch_1.12.1

The cost for the riding skill will be significantly higher than it previously was, however this is offset by a drastically lower cost for the actual mount.

Well RIP. Makes sense I guess, thanks for the feedback<3

Sorry friend, this was definitely how it worked back in the day. Perhaps you just did a lot of quests and ended up exalted with Ironforge before you bought it?

At one point, with the AQ efforts or something, you got very easy faction rep. Could it have had something to do with that? Regardless the rank mounts have always been this way.
