Ranged Rogue

If Hunters can have a melee spec, why can’t Rogues have a ranged spec?

Can be like Ninja style with ninja stars and/or xbows. Or can go more the pirate/swashbuckler with dual pistols?

They tried that last expansion in TWW and did not work out.

Personally the only ranged rouge I would want to see is a throwing weapon spec. We used to use thrown weapons and We even had a ranged finisher. Then they removed both. Our thrown weapons used to be equipped like ammo for bows and guns.

Did they really? I leveled to max as Sub and stopped playing. Didn’t even notice.

because they didnt make any rogue spec range

hes most likely refering to outlaws ability crackshot which you can use between the eyes back to back

but thats not range rogue, since you still needed to be in melee range for ss/ambush, dispatch, blade flurry, your energy regen kit

dont listen to mafic he has no idea what hes talkign about

A ranged spec for Rogue would be Bard :joy:

TWW Crackshot/DF was pretty fun but it was too hard to balance.

Even on the 12.1 PTR they are nerfing BTE talents again and it feels bad.

Rogue ranged spec would be stealth archer. Sub is already the shuriken spec and outlaw already has guns. That leaves bows, crossbows, and maybe suppressed guns for the theoretical 4th rogue ranged spec.

Nah two of our specs has throwing. Assassination has a throwing ability and sub has the Shuriken throw. Too me if we get a ranged spec it should be throwing at 25 yards. But unlike the dh we should be a complete ranged and not have anything bring us close.

All we really need is an effective finisher. RIP Deadly Throw.

If we had a ranged spec, I’d want it to be a true range spec with 40 yd range. None of this mickey mouse 25 yard stuff we currently see in the game.

Poisoned arrows for single target. Exploding arrows or rocket launchers for AoE. What I visualize is sniper doing its craft from a distance.

A bard doesnt fit rogue at all.

Bard is more a hunter spec… rogues are daggers\swords and death\shadow magic… hunters are more nature magic.

Melee oriented bards are Rogues.

Ranged oriented bards are Hunters.

Interesting take. Is a Bard More Like a Rogue or a Hunter? Goggle search says you’re completely wrong. Bards are Rogues - the internet must be right?

highly likely gemini is wrong. Rogues do not make a good bard. They are daggers\swords and death\shadow magic in world of warcraft. Bards are highly likely to be more nature and arcane magic and ranged and in world of warcraft arcane\nature magic that also have ranged weapons are hunters.

Its really not a interesting take if you engage with my arguement with it. Rogue is not nature\arcane class and i dont think bard is a death magic\shadow magic class.

In WoW context Blood Elves and other Elves dabble with arcane so Rogues can fit that archtype. And poisons are nature damage. CloS is clearly from the shadow tree and abilities like Marked for Death are death magic.

For a melee oriented bard to work it would require dual wield and Rogues have that. But classically bards or swordsingers use light magic, nature and arcane.

So a dual wield paladin for example would be a a great melee oriented bard class as they use the light.

Ranged would definitely fit hunters as they use bows and can make use of arcane and nature magic as they do in WoW.

Why do bards have to fit with either rogue or hunter? why can’t they be their own class?

When someone says “bard,” I often think of someone holding a lute, giving out buffs, and if he fights he “El Kab0ngs” them over the head

Traditionally a bard uses flutes, lyre or guitar to inspire teammates.

well a lute is a string instrument like a guitar

True which is why bards should be their own class as they do not use weapons.
