Ranged Hunter now the worst dmg raid spec in the game

Ranged Hunter is now behind every other spec in the game including meme specs (check warcraftlogs if you don’t believe me). Meanwhile melee hunter is sitting at #1. If I wanted to play melee I would have rolled a warrior or rogue. Can we get a bit of love here please?

Note: I’m ignoring frost images since no one plays it for raids (only 1.8k parses vs 60k for ranged hunters).

You were top in Phase 1, its only Phase 2… why not let others shine.

We were behind rogues and warriors.

I’m fine with others shining but having what should be the best dps hunter spec on the only pure dps class be the worst performing in the game doesn’t make sense.

because the top dps in p1 are no longer the top dps in p1 and have been ree’ing for 2 weeks to nerf us because they aren’t strong anymore.

It’s because

  1. Pets scaled little at this level compare to mob hp.
  2. There is now instant shot ability to cast, cs has cool down. It’s the old classic game design, ranged classes don’t have instant big dmg spell, either on cd or need channelling.

With how bosses are made, ranged hunters were doomed this phase.
Extremely high armor values makes their auto shots do less dmg
immunity to poison which makes chimera shot useless
Because of massive nerfs made to hunters in phase 1, they shot hunters down pretty bad.
Pets will also suffer because of the high armor values, making BM hunter a lot worse. (Wind serpent somewhat exempt from this)

This was a recipe for disaster, glad melee hunter is doing good otherwise I’d probably have quit the game. (Made hunter again to be melee)

my guildy did 18,000 poison damage with instant poison on thermaplugg, you are forgiven because, as a hunter, we know you can’t help it.

I haven’t encountered that so far, I was able to apply Serpent Sting and do damage with Chimera Shot on all bosses.

They should buff the Sniper Training rune, the uptime is really bad and if you turret and never move, you’re griefing yourself and probably the raid, the buff need to stay for a couple of seconds when we move.
