Range DPS tip

If you have an evoker healer, do yourself a favor and put a mark on their head and make a conscious effort to stand between them and the tank if you want to have consistent heals. You can be standing off to the sides, they have a very strong and big aoe cone heal. But you need to be in front of them.

And if you need heals in a boss fight, you want to move towards them. I had about a half dozen groups with range scattered to 3 corners of the boss room and it’s a nightmare to heal. There is always that one mage or hunter that wants to stand at max range and it’s maddening.

Wait, ranged classes want to stay at range? Who would have thought?

I know, a silly concept.

well no duh range want to stay maxed range. its safer…

Not always. There’s about a 15y range to most point blank attacks. Cones are harder to avoid as a ranged class if you’re at max (more time moving is less time casting), and most danger mechanics will spawn under your feet at any range.

There are multiple downsides to being super out there, and as a MM I have eaten my fair share of humble pie for showing off my 60y range.

(Oh and mobs that will stun you for being at a certian range, or leap at you which enrages all the melee!)

You have to be kidding. Good for melee wrong for range. I would move in but not between the tank and you.

The real healing problem is when the warlock is standing in Argus, the Hunter in Outlands and the Balance Druid in Oribos, everyone as far as posible of other players.

Why do ranged still want air between them when asked to stack up? Melee have no problem occupying the same 1ft square, but ranged don’t like having anyone invade their personal space.

Welcome to pally holy flashlight healing. They probably have a support group Evokers can join.

Well, then you’re not getting healed I guess. Thats not a spite thing, thats just you not being in the AoE. If a healer has to choose to put their major cooldowns on the tank + whoever’s in front vs one person in the back, the tank’s going to win that priority war every time.

You can tell which evokers played Hpal, because they just let you die. :dracthyr_comfy_blue:

That is their problem not range,we never stand in crap even to heal next to a tank. We are range dps .

Being out of position is being a bad range.

Then you and your high horse can die on that hill, /shrug.

Of note for Preservation healers, though, even if ranged are behind you, as lonf as they’re in a straight line from the rest of the party, you can often move to the side and angle it to hit everyone by aiming “sideways”.

No helping the Dream Flight or Spiritbloom, though.

Do you wish for range to die? Are you sure you’ll heal us?? 40 ft yeah but not near a tank gg.

Oh look I’m range dps,not a pally.

I don’t think you know how range works if you think anything less than 40 is in the danger zone. Most areas in dugeons won’t allow that much distance from the center.

Echo is pretty good for getting your cone hot on the whole party. Spirit bloom will do as spirit bloom does (the smart heal is about 70/30). I really treat Dreamflight as a Snooze Ya Lose button (hehehehuheuhue) at this point.

As a retired hpal who has really enjoyed picking up prevoker, this made me laugh out loud, thanks. :joy:

Im always forgetting that. My echoes are usually used for Reversions doubling on the tank and spot healing with Verdant Embrace. I need more awareness on that for sure.

It is the more versatile spell in the kit, and you can pull off some truly disgusting burst healing with some EB in pocket and planning.

Oh I know.or I wouldn’t be here .
