I was afk in Oribos watching a youtube video at my desk when suddenly I died. I am a blood elf warlock. There was no recap available, nor any data in my combat log. I wasn’t flagged either. Very unusual. Any insight would be appreciated.

Can confirm. Only other thing to add, as that it wasn’t a one-shot thing. Whatever it was did damage over time. As I watched it go down.
Likewise nothing in the combat log.
Clearly a few things are going wrong with the new patch.

Does anyone have the Rune trinket from The Jailer? One of the negative effects is a slow Bleed-dot; it will eventually kill you if you go AFK. Source: happened to me.

This happened to me on my fresh 50 Unholy DK. I chose Threads of Fate, got my Covenant powers and picked my first zone quest up. When I left the room to go to the center ring, I couldn’t mount up because I was in combat. The combat log does not list any damage but does confirm that I died. My health also went down over time.

This has been happening to me too constantly. I’ve taken a multitude of screenshots showing this happening to me, my pet, and to others. It’s a slow and gradual damage that eventually kills you and absolutely nothing is recorded from combat log (this has happened enough times where I have multiple screenshots proving this.) I’ve had witnesses to the deaths in Oribos too, seems to mostly stem around the pvp vendor section and the center circle of the lower level of Oribos.
This just happened to me in Oribos as well in front of the command table. My pet hp started ticking down. I noticed my pet died and then my hp started ticking down. No recap, no combat log.
So creepy. I’ve been reading about player characters dying out of nowhere and its happening all around the game specifically in rested areas and cities. No log except for “you died”. Hasn’t happened to any of my characters (yet).
I’m curious, has anybody had this happen to a toon that wasn’t a pet class? I just had it happen with my destro lock with a void lord out.
came in to say that this still very much happens lmao went afk in front of the night fae covenant dude in oribos, came back pet was dead and i had 10% hp. nothing in details or combat log. not flagged for pvp either
Just had the same thing happen to me. Warlock, just hit level 50 and zoned into Oribos. Had my voidwalker out. Did the first exchanges on the entry platform and started following the guards to the war room as I call it. Noticed that I and my pet were taking ticking damage. Didn’t see anyone around. Not flagged for PVP. When we got to Tal-Inara, my voidwalker died, and then I died.
Just happened to me. I tabbed out waiting on a BG to pop in Oribos and slowly started losing health. I was playing a hunter at the time.
Happened to me too on my freshly lvl 50 Warlock. Nothing there except the honorless Kill debuff. It was in Oribos. I noticed my voidwalker die first.
This just happened to me at around 9:05PM AEDT on Moon Guard. I was standing next to Bolvar Fordragon on my Orc Death Knight. I left my character to go brush my teeth. When I came back she was a corpse. I had 4 minutes remaining until release with “Death Recap” greyed out.
Just happened to my lowbie alt. Doing the oribos run around and tour the city quest.
Just happened to my character, I’m 100% PvE.
On a level 20 Blood Elf Hunter, finished opening to the portal to Ogrimmar, wandered back into Orbidos where the table where the helmet was placed, and saw my pet die, then I died. On the quest to explore Orbidos (as earlier posters also mentioned) And there’s four other skeletons here, and messages of two other pets (not mine) die.
Combat log did not indicate where damage came from.
Raptor Died.
You died.
I noticed a Rogue doing some AoE stealth thing, I dont know if related.
Also noticed a rogue emote laugh at me, dont know if related.
Just happened to my tauren warlock, i was waiting for the quest to let me click the table and then i randomly died… looked at the combat log and it just says : You have died. :
left me clueless of whats happened, i didnt see my hp go down though, i wasnt afk.
This is still happening it seems. Not only in Oribos, but maldraxxus for me. 2 times in roughly 10 minutes just chatting with my guild one one of my alts.
