My account was randomly banned for 6 months. I have had this account since 2012. I have had little reason given other then it says third party software, hacking/botting. I assure you i am not smart enough to do that.
I understand a ton of people have been banned using console ports. However i have not used that. My account was compromised unknowingly on Saturday. I’m an idiot and had the same PW for my email as my wow account. Please i learned my lesson no need to troll. I probably deserve this because i also lacked an authenticator do to the hassle. Which i have since added.
Even though you can clearly see two seperate IP’s logging in matching up my story i have had no luck with the appeal.
IP #1 has been the IP used on this account since 2016. IP #2 was active for 3-4 days when the deed took place that caused the bann.
I’m super confused by the lack of common sense on this one. I have never been suspended before to my knowledge. I most deff have never cheated or used any addons outside of things like DBM, Questie or bartender. The standard stuff.
I’m not even a hardcore player anymore. So maybe i should take this as a sign to retire.
However the principle element of this all has me wanting to fight this. However i feel completely helpless.
Look, I apologize for my rant. Please don’t kick me while I’m down. I promise on my daughters life I’m being 100% honest with my account of what happened.
Maybe this is goodbye azeroth and friends. I’m gutted.
Sorry for the rant… Any help is appreciated. However if not overturned I think I may just call it a good run and a sign its time to move on.
Account sharing is against the rules. You can claim that you didn’t share your account info, but so can every single person that shared their account info. There is no way for Blizzard to know who is lying and who is telling the truth. All they can tell you, is that your account was botting.
If your story is true, you have my sympathy whatever that is worth. Having said that, keeping your account secure is your responsibility. This is not Blizzard’s fault.
edit:
I somehow didn’t catch this line. Now I doubt your entire story.
There’s (probably) no way to make a distinction between compromised accounts, accounts being shared by 3rd parties to level on your account, or accounts using botting software while on a VPN to make it look as if their account may have been compromised.
So the only solution would have been to keep your account secure in the first place. Sounds like it’s too late for that and no one is going to just take your word for it. Nor should they.
Thats nuts if you ever read the terms blizzard can ban you for no reason. It’s ok was being honest just looking for advice. Not here to get trolled. i understand anytime you post on the forums you subject yourself to harsh judgments. Figured it was worth a shot.
Also for those accusing of a leveling service think what you may. I didnt know people did that since you can pay to literally boost your character to near cap level now for like 50$.
It’s what it is i will leave this post open in hopes something good comes from it. Thanks again.
You’re really not good at this and my advice is if you’re ever interrogated, the only words that should come out of your mouth is “I’d like to speak with a lawyer.”
Blizzard doesn’t give details in their ban e-mails. You know two IPs logged into your account. You know they were active for 3-4 days. But you didn’t report your account as compromised or change your login credentials.
I guess man. I really dont use that email for anything but WoW anymore. And i have 4 kids and a busy career. I didnt realize i was banned till a couple days after the fact.
Email stated Offense: use of bots or third part automation software. Which would be nothing to do with a level boost service i am most positive.
I appreciate you taking the time to post. But not everyone is full of it. it’s what it is man. Either way i submitted another appeal will see what happened. I’m convinced it has something to do with the 600,000 banns that rolled out on sunday. Majority of which was undone do to error. However i have not had that same luck.
Warden happens… one of my accounts was flagged once. The scenario was an auction house competitor/friend asked me to trade gold from his alliance character to his low-level horde character in Booty Bay. I was an intermediary to the transaction and was suspended for violation of the economy. Warden flagged my account.
You can’t decide to do anything you don’t want anyone to know about in the game. Blizzard’s Warden software has a record of all transactions.
They do thorough investigation you know. They know when someone hacks your account.
I do not know what you did, or if you feel prey to the temptation “to be best” and “win”, which pushed you to do something against the rules, and I cannot judge you in any way. But those that made the decision I am pretty sure have evidence and data that supports it.
In either case this maybe an opportunity to reflect and meditate on it.
