So I had a random idea wanted to know what you guys would think. What if they put a profession NPC in every zone (new zones, not old expansions) and the point of this NPC is that you can give them a certain amount of gold for a specific gathering profession like herbs, mining, etc… And when you do that it decreases the spawn rate time of whatever you paid for by like x2 for x amount of time. You could have the price start small and increase for each time you pay for it. Maybe have the price reset every day. Have it like announced on the map for the zone like a legion invasion and the amount of time it has.
So someone can pay to grief gatherers? With the millions of gold that’s out there from before Blizz fixed Legion missions (and people were buying gold via tokens)?
The only way this could be at all palatable or interesting is that if players could also pay to increase the rate, or to counteract the decrease. A sliding scale, as it were. That might be interesting.
As it stands, though, this idea sounds like something someone who wants to get rid of LFR would come up with.
how would decreasing the spawn rate making it faster to gather herbs be griefing? I don’t understand that logic. It would be helping. It doesn’t have to be gold. It can be something else. It’s just the concept of the idea, that people could help each other work faster with professions.
That doesn’t mean what you think it means, by the way you’re wording it you want to make it take longer between respawns.
If you want to make more off of gathering I think it would be easier, more effective, and more accepted by the community to heavily throttle or prevent multibox gatherers and take a zero-tolerance policy against gathering bots.
decreasing the spawn rate time then.
When you say “decrease the spawn rate”, I hear “spawn less often”. Sorry about that.
“Decrease the spawn timer” would have been less confusing to me.
I fixed it. Sorry
