Anyone else with a pet class still get hit with odd damage from an NPC, even when it’s focused on your pets? It’s made survivability nearly impossible in Dragonflight. I didn’t have any problems with previous expansions.
Why would you be close enough to your pet to get hit by splash/cleave/aoe damage targeting it? That’s like standing right next to the tank in front of the boss. Don’t do that.
Your pet should be in front of mobs its tanking and you’re either way behind the pet or behind the mob. Obviously a bit different situation in pvp since your pet can’t tank a player.
some mobs are programmed to spam-cast abilities on any player standing at range, even if your pet has full aggro (off the top of my head, some of the centaur elites in nokuud hold are like this). Usually they stop if you park yourself in melee range, but they do hit really hard until then.
