Not gonna lie I’ve said mean things in this game over the years and have had chat bans given to me here and there. I haven’t gotten one since early BFA so I don’t really talk that much in game anymore. However since the prepatch of Wrath Classic I had gotten a “Behavior warning” when I don’t talk to anyone on classic. Then I had the same thing happen to me when I logged on retail. I stopped talking so much in game anymore because me and all my friends hang out in discord to talk. I’m not sure what is even the criteria of being toxic in wow anymore when I don’t even talk in /say or /raid etc anymore.
I do teabag people I kill in pvp though, is that honestly not allowed anymore?
Since I’m a repeat offender when it comes to chat bans I would normally get I think about a month if I get chat banned again? But ummm…yeah idk did they wipe the slate clean or something?
I honestly don’t know what is warranting these warnings and was wondering if anyone else has been getting these warnings lately.
If a buddy and his friends report you? You will get a behavior violation warning. Even if the behavior they reported is not reportable. Me and some friends camped some people in world pvp. We got that warning I reached out to a GM who explained to me that nothing we did was reportable so nothing would come of it.
Im not sure what you did so I cant speak for you. I am just telling you what happened when I got those.
If you ever have questions about things like this you can always reach out to Customer Support like I did. I spoke with a GM via live chat. That way you get a legit response. But Account Behavior issues they will not discuss on the forums. You will need to either open a ticket or talk to a GM via live chat.
At least that way if you are violating some rule? You will know about it right away and can stop it at the source with the group who would ban you for the behavior if it was a violation.
This was pretty much the issue in my case. I was told if they do enough false reporting it could wind up getting them in trouble. Although of course the GM only told me the policy. Not if any action is being taken on the people that false reported me
Not for a warning. That is an automated message and is just basically a chance to be aware fellow players are reporting you and to stop whatever you might be doing.
Nothing comes of it unless it gets enough reports to escalate.
The warning is good, given that they did not find Silence to be very effective and, other than maybe a first offense, are now Suspending people for chat infractions again.
Supposedly you don’t even need to say anything to get those warnings anymore
Bad actors/malicious false reporters can cause you to receive those warnings simply on account of mass-false reports triggering the automated system. This was discovered recently with people playing as infected zombies (…as Blizzard intended players to do/pre-patch event), not saying a single word, and still getting automated silences thanks to the toxic community
One of the problems with Wrath classic pre-patch is the automated reporting system suddenly being “in the spotlight”, so the masses/general public are even more likely to file false reports against players they don’t like simply because they are now “aware” that the reporting/punishments system is automated
False reports were a problem before, but no where near the sheer scale we are seeing now/is currently being exposed due to Wrath classic. The fact they are “overturning” sooo many false bans/false silences kinda proves that the wider general public is now aware of how the automated reporting works, and they are actively weaponizing it in Wrath classic
must be the same joke crap system they use on this forum. The trolls get their guildies to mass report and the lazy ‘moderators’ just dont do squat about it.
The ONLY thing that can happen on the forums for reports is that a post gets turned grey and someone has to click to read. That is it.
Mods either unflag the post if it is fine, or they take action on it. Remove the post, edit the post, and/or suspend the poster if they actually break the rules. Mods unflag things all the time.
They were getting reported for “playing zombies” against their own team in BGs which is why they got reported.
then we’re basically admitting biased mods in here use personal agendas to go along with the flagging then and ‘violation’ is open to a wide range of interpretations.
sounds about right.
