Random Pet Summon Button

Can we get a random pet Summon button, like we have with mounts? Going through my list of 200 pets to pick one to summon kind of feels bad, a random summon would be cool though.

Wait. I thought there was a random summon button (but only for favourited pets)?

Maybe I’m farther toward dementia than I thought, I don’t see one at all

Open the pet journal. There’s a button at the top you can drag to your bars “summon random favourite pet”. The only downside is that when you load into different zones, you will need to resummon the pet. But there’s an addon to deal with that:

Unfortunately the addon dev no longer plays wow so it won’t be updated anymore but hopefully someone will fork it.

I like your idea, but I also wish my Favorite Pets were tied to only the character who favorited them. The reason I would want this is because I usually like pairing certain pets based on rp value. For example, I have a gnome hunter in a farmer/lumberjack mog that I only summon barnyard/farm pets. There are quite a few options I would like to randomly summon from my list. From goats and pigs to dogs and cats, and even rodents. And I can’t forget my favorite, the Pygmy Cow. However, I don’t like to see all my barnyard pets on my warlock who only summons pets that would fit with a warlock, like demons and whatnot. I realize that sounds insane to most people, but it’s something I think really brings a character full circle.

I especially like to line my hunter pets up with my battle pets. My other hunter, a Highmountain Tauren, has a family of moose. I initially tamed a male tan moose, then went and tamed a female tan doe. I then put the doe in the 1st stable slot, having it be the pet that gets summoned when choosing the animal companion talent. I can then have the “Dad Moose” as my main pet, the “Mom Moose” in my stable which will appear on my other side, with Baby Elderhorn to complete the family.
