They were buffed modestly because they were underperforming substantially in a post-ICC patch environment without the accompanying ICC gear. This was not intended.

Well, even with our ICC gear, ret was going to need a Shadowmourne to get out of actual last place and into the bottom third…

Ret was in a pretty terrible place this expansion the whole way through, now that people actually know how to gear and play everything else better.

Warriors are in a similar position. Munching deep wounds aside, they are performing significantly worse because of the armor pen nerf and the 10% titan’s grip penalty. Both of these changes were balanced appropriately with ICC gear. Without ICC gear, they are performing poorly.

Sure on the armor pen nerf, but that’s mitigated right now by the fact that Ulduar had an item level boost that allowed them to get more ArP than normal… That nerf was largely due to what warriors started doing with ArP in ToGC.

But the Titan’s grip penalty was in by Ulduar the first time around. That had nothing to do with ICC gear.

So warriors will be about where they were balanced around by the next phase’s gear levels. They aren’t in a terrible place now as they approach best in slot.

Removing the Titans grip penalty would be short sighted, and would need to be removed later as fury warriors become the best single target and cleave damage class without it by far.

Fury is fine now, it gets better later.

Ret wasn’t fine, and was going to take ICC gear and a legendary to get out of laughable DPS levels… Hence the buff.

Feral druid didn’t need a DPS buff. It’s appropriate to be upset about that one (especially the degree of it)

warrior’s want the 10% penalty removed from Titan’s Grip. It was removed in Cata.
