…which will not be implemented.
When a player dies, they become an elite ghost for 3 days.
In starting zones, they are a yellow mob, otherwise red.
Their loot is what they had at the time of death (excl. quest items).
Edit: dead char is an NPC.

Nice way of implementing PvP on the PvE servers - no thanks.
This is a mask for someone who wants to grief hc players. HARD pass.
what if a little marker stays up where that player died? maybe for a few hours for 1-10, a week 11-20, longer 21+ and perma 50+.
maybe instead of player housing, we could have player cemeteries…
i really should stop selling these ideas for free… but a catacomb full of urns with player names and class and levels and death details…

Perma markers would give players a way to draw. TTP
corpses do that already.
Ah yes, hundreds of red mobs in a zone where players have 1 to 2 rank 1 abilities. That would end well.
Aye. I remember the hilarious gold seller websites spelled out in org in front of the bank lol. But, the corpse, and eventual skeleton, disappear at some point after you rez. The idea presented would give a permanent marker after x-levels.
but it is in the spirit of MMORPGs to have the players able to interact with the world and permanently alter it.
it could be cleaned up under reports of illegal activities and wahtnot. Someone doing a bad thing shouldn’t invalidate the feature for everyone. We’d never have anything nice if that was the way.
edit: EVE has corpse collections. I miss that.
I don’t believe it would be good for the world of warcraft game. But, that’s just my opinion ![]()
a semi-permanent grave marker is a good idea ![]()
This idea would be perfect with just a few changes.
