At least they’re honest and upfront, they just want you to join their guild. They aren’t lying to your face with false promises of “Raiding every week with bgs and world pvp and friendly active community with discord and blowjobs and pudding” like every other guild advertisement you see

I always set “block guild invites” on and if they whisper me, I just tell them “I started wow with BFA” and they don’t bother me anymore and I can go back to playing the game.

Had one last night who was saying their guild was one of the oldest ones on the classic server, 6 years and going. I was laughing so hard.

Eh. After a successful grouping for a dungeon or quest, if I felt like playing with someone again Id mention that my guild needs more people and they would be welcome to join.
But spamming a guild ad in general or trade just doesnt help fill a guild with the right kind of player.
That definition of “meme” didn’t exist in vanilla. Memes weren’t very well known as a thing at all yet, and were mainly just pictures at that point.
