Random Dungeons still no Cross Faction?

Why not? wouldnt queues be faster? Im for it? whay cant a Orc random queue into a normal/heroic dungeon with a night elf?

I think you should be able to Opt into it, personally.

But Being able to queue cross faction for leveling dungons would be nice to make them a little bit faster.

An opt-in would definitely be the best route to take, I think.

That should keep the majority of folks happy.

Yep. I get there are some serious die hards out there, and that’s okay.

But I’m sure a big section of this community doesn’t really think of Leveling dungeons as being “The Real Game” and would rather just slap through them as quick as possible.

Give them a chance to work out the bugs that will come up with premade, then they can look at expanding it. It is better to test it out with the smaller pool before you screw up all content with it.

No cross faction = 100% or maybe more decrease in ques !! YAY

I’ll que with friends and just kick any alliance that gets added. Thats why.

Faster for the Alliance maybe.

Have it cost 5000 gold to be cross faction.

Psychological reasons.

There’s some people who would be very upset if they wound up with certain other types of people.

I know more than one Ally Elf who would snap if suddenly teamed with a foursome of Goblins and Vulpera, for example.

It’s just not really important there. Randoms are random, you’ll never see those people again regardless if it’s an orc or a dwarf on your team. The cross-faction’s main benefit is for friends and guilds, organized pre-made content. People who actually know each other or are trying for something important.

And as Blizz said, they want it to remain optional. So to preserve that freedom of choice randoms don’t get it.

Yeah, it should work just like they outline the pre-made dungeon finder works: players can select whether they want Alliance/Horde-only or not.

To be fair, I’ve been in situations where I’m playing/leveling with friends, but we don’t have a full 5, so we use the random dungeon finder. With cross-faction grouping, leveling characters together on different factions would be viable, but not being able to queue into randoms is definitely a damper on that idea.

They said in the post that plan is to make the system as opt in as possible. no getting forced into a cross faction group by random group finders. you have the option to make any group you start restricted to your faction. I’m not sure how a group of 4 friends (3 ally, 1 horde as an example) would work if they wanted to use LFD, but that’s part of what the PTR is for.

I thought you were going to be unsubbing? lol

Personally, I think that’s the way they SHOULD be doing it.

Random queue for a dungeon, get players from both sides, randomly to fill the slots.

Its very early to conclude this is final. I’m very sure this will change in time.

I presume Blizzard is having a lot of coding problems with this. I imagine the dungeon finder is tightly tied to faction-specific code and needs to be heavily redone.

well then they can report them …
