Old computer had a lot of issues, it died (this dc error was happening to me then) a few months went by and I got this brand new computer built and finally resubbed to wow. But now its making it a real chore just to stay logged in to try and accomplish anything. Its always just random, whether I am in the open world or an instance, islands, dungeons, old world, whatever, it just randomly happens.
Sometimes it will say I have been disconnected from Battle app, but other times it just closes my game and my battle net is still connected just fine and I log back in.
Regardless, its extremely annoying and I don’t know at this moment what the issue is. My boyfriend is on WoW using hardwire the same as me, right next to me and hasn’t had this issue a single time now. I was inclined to believe it could be my internet but, well I don’t really know if it were why it doesn’t effect him as well…
Anyone else have this issue, any fixes? I have seen a few posts but many of them just become super convoluted and very specific to that poster.
For issues like this we’ll want to get a WinMTR test to look into the connection. We’ll want to run that until a disconnect occurs. When posting the results you’ll want to format it by encasing it in a set of ~~~ like so:

WinMTR

Does the computer have either Killer Network or SmartByte installed?
Sorry it took me a while, had multiple issues with permissions and had to reach out to Win10 support, as well as many times running WinMTR showed 100% packet loss at every hop until the very last one even while I was playing with no issue.
Anyways this disconnect happened same as all the others, just disconnects, and then reconnects the app and I am right back in, its just extremely annoying especially when I am trying to do anything beyond just heroic dungeons D:
It looks like the instability starts between your PC/router. There’s some packet loss between your PC and router and I would expect that when you start dropping data packets, the server stops hearing from your PC and decides ultimately to drop you. Let’s start by resetting your router and PC to clear their caches. It may be the router cache being flooded with data, causing those packets to get dropped.
If that doesn’t work, are you on wifi? If so, swap to ethernet and retest. Finally if even that fails, see how playing on another network like a mobile tether works for a little while. If it works that way, you’ll want to reach out to your ISP and see what you can do about replacing the router.
So I found another thread where the person mentioned the random disconnects being associated with DHCP leasing times. I did some digging and found that my DHCP lease for my IP was set to expire every hour. I played around with the router settings to find the right variable and was able to set the DHCP lease to 24 hours which I believe is typical for most ISPs.
Would this make sense to you? As of now I have tested it after changing and have not yet noticed anymore disconnects, however after tonight I will update if I noticed it again, and after trying all the steps you have included.
Usually when we see that issue your winMTR looks WAY worse, and you’ll have a massive packet flood. It’s certainly worth a try but I don’t expect it to be your fix in this case. If it works, it’ll be interesting to know!
I’m replying back so you can let us know how things go after you test later tonight. Good luck until then! ^^
Been a while again, just wanted to give an update for anyone who may be experiencing this : I finally figured out how to get signed into my router and check the DHCP lease timer. The value was set to 3600 and I didn’t know what that meant until I checked my network settings and noticed it was an hour exactly from the time the lease renews until it expires again.
It took a few tries but once I set the DHCP lease time to 86400 (24 hrs/seconds) I check my network settings and it now shows a full 24 hours and I have not had any issues with a disconnect outside of the lease renew time if I happen to be online.
