I have made it my goal to get the Honor Level 500 mount and am more than half of the way there. Here are my tips for playing BG’s as Alliance if you value your sanity.
First of all, skip epic BG’s as Alliance because they are a complete waste of time. You will win about 20% of the games there and rage quit. Stick with normal BG’s where the ratio is closer to 50%.
You will never enjoy random BG’s if don’t graduate to arena at some point. The point of random BG’s is to stomp the other team. You do that by improving your skill and getting better gear, which require going outside your comfort zone to do some arena. This is where you learn your class abilities and what other classes can do to you. You learn about positioning, counters, go’s and more. You shouldn’t do rated arena immediately. Just queue for skirmishes and pay attention to what happened during each match and use it as a learning opportunity. You will need to do some research and get some add-ons before stepping into rated arena. Once you feel comfortable, start doing 2v2 with pugs and get combatant rating.
When you go back into a random BG, do your best to win. Utilize everything you have learned from playing your class in arena to become a better BG player. If you get frustrated, take a break then try again. There is nothing sweeter than than turning around a losing BG and winning it. It won’t happen unless someone makes a vital play during the game and it might just be you.
