Since there are so many HPH people who throw a hissy fit if people actually PvP in AV, Blizz should make a AV RAID.
Get set NNNN honour for killing Vann/Orc-Guy. No loot.
Each time a player dies, NNNN is reduced by M.
Killing Lts advisable otherwise boss will squash everyone.
Also if over time, NNNN drops M per minute or something.
Now all those whiny HPH players don’t have to worry about real PvP and real PvPers actually get to enjoy the BG.
Deny entrance to the bosses until certain objectives are completed.
This is basically the resource system that was added later on.

… but I like yours too. Put the Warmasters/Marshals in a foyer and a locked door between them and Drek/Van.
Truth be told though, I don’t actually mind that the meta rush strategy exists. I just don’t like that it’s so mainstream that people are getting hyper aggressive when anybody does anything other than that. Having a BG where gameplay can take any myriad of other routes is critical to its longevity, and it’s exactly why AV has remained my favourite BG throughout all versions of WoW. The other entries in what retail now calls “Epic Battlegrounds” just never really landed the same way as OG AV (without reinforcements) did.
If I’m being honest here, I think WoW PvP would play a whole lot better if it didn’t have an associated gear grind that went with it. People get so invested in making that progress bar go up that they forget there’s a game there too.

To fix it they just simply have to just revert it back to OG AV. With all the mine fields and elites there’s no way to advance without pvp.
