In what scenario would Execute be prioritised over Rampage?
I assuming it’s if you are enraged and Execute wouldn’t rage cap you. However, is that even much of a DPS loss if you rampaged over execute in that scenario?
Second question, when enraged is it still better to use Bloodthirst on CD?
Effectively never. Even with the Carnage talent Rampage costs 75 rage and Execute generates 20 rage. So at a minimum you’re putting yourself at 95 rage, which means auto-attacks are probably going to overcap you, and that’s a DPS loss. Just hit Rampage as soon as it lights up and it’ll be correct in 99.99% of cases.
Better than what? If your gear is any good you’ve got 2-3 CSHB Azerite Traits. Fishing for those Bloodthirst crits to apply the DoT is a big deal. It’s not your #1 button priority but it’s pretty high up there, and being enraged already doesn’t devalue it in the least.
ETA: I thought of one case where I prioritize Execute over Rampage. It’s if I’m facing a single trash mob, both buttons are available, and either one will kill the mob. Better to finish it with Execute and have a full rage bar for the next mob. But for bosses? Rampage, every time.
