I would like to be able to use the legendary for more than the final 2 weeks of the expansion… It’s absolutely ridiculous that I was just in a raid with FIFTEEN plate wearers , FIFTEEN people that could have used the axe, and it dropped for ONE person. AT THE END OF THE EXPANSION. WTF???
ONE PERSON out of 15+ people… Some of those people were on their 13th and 14th kill, and still NO AXE.
This was on heroic difficulty… At this rate, what… Am I supposed to put 15 WEEKS (3 1/2 MONTHS) of grind in for an item that I will only get to use for a couple weeks?
This is my first time playing a melee class, and I have been having an absolute blast… but the fact that I have been spending literally 8 weeks farming for this axe and might need to go for another 6-7 weeks, has significantly affected the experience for me and has just made me angry and upset and not wanting to even play…
I literally just feel like giving up on this class, It is starting to seem like a pointless endeavor considering that fact that i’ll likely end up getting it at the final week required of heroic kills (14 weeks) and then TWW will be right around the corner, For 14+ weeks of grind just to not even get to use it for a month or more.
And as i’ve said in other posts, Some people walk in and get the axe on their 2nd kill,
There is nothing Legendary about a person walking in and getting it on their 2nd kill without even trying, some of which don’t even plan to use the axe or even craft it because they are healers or tanks…
Blizz, You have ruined this experience for a large portion of your player base.
I would honestly prefer if you just never put a legendary into the game again if you can’t figure out how to make acquisition meaningful and non-RNG based.
Yeah. I mean it’s an interesting design problem. Heading into the second season where it’s the best-in-slot item for a huge selection of the active player base. I really wish they wouldn’t have included the upgrade items.
It feels really bad to farm last seasons raid for my current season BIS.
After like 15 kills or something it is a 100% drop rate, if people are showing up now with a new plate wearer they should have to put in a good number of kills, it’s not fair to those who actually put in the effort prior.
And it’s far from a waste, I’ve been using mine every week since I got it and still use it.
And for what it’s worth, it took me a couple of months to get it.
I don’t necessarily agree. The addition of the upgrade path for the legendary kind of tosses that out in my opinion. There are less chances per lockout if you raid current content with your guild – and the pugging scene for last seasons content either means a raid full of plate wearers or people doing content that offers them nothing.
I think it should be a 100% drop in Awakened version of the raid.
What effort did you put in that I didn’t put in? I’m on my 8th week which is when you say you got yours,. People in the raid I was just in were on their 14th week,
How did you put in more effort than me or them?
Why do you deserve it more than us?
I’m glad that you got it luckily in HALF the time it takes most people to get it, but for those people who still haven’t got it, They will get to actually use the axe for a significantly less amount of time than you’ve been able to use it before the next expansion comes out and the axe is WORTHLESS.
You should re-think your logic.
Legendary items should not be RNG based, PERIOD.
It should be a lengthy quest like Shadowmourne which required not only difficult quests, but also quests that included killing raid bosses and even final raid bosses like the lich king.
You haven’t put any effort into it more than I have so why would it “Not be fair” to YOU if I was able to get the axe?
Plus, it’s not like I wasn’t clearing that content on farm mode weekly during Season 3. How about embers backfill for what I was maining (to help out my guild) last season?
It’s funny how half the people who reply to these types of posts with comments like “It wouldn’t be fair to the people who put in the effort” or “suck it up” are always people who already have the item themselves.
That and disregard that classes are balanced on the assumption of having these items. Should I be behind the curve for all of Season 4 for something I didn’t do in Season 3?
So you are going to give up a class you are ‘having absolute blast’ playing because you didn’t get one reward that you clearly didn’t need in order to enjoy playing the class?
I understand getting so frustrated you want to give up on a reward (looking at you, Deathcharger) but giving up a class you are ‘having absolute blast’ playing over a reward seems like cutting off you nose to spite your face.
My entire class is not balanced around deathchargers reins, ok?
I spent months of s3 getting my paladin to the point that all that was left gear wise was the legendary, and I put in just as much if not more effort than all the people running around with it currently.
I do not know if I have the patience in me again, to gear my paladin up to the max that it can be, just to still not be able to get my BiS weapon and still be behind everyone else that does have it.
I have fun with my class because of the COMPETITION.
I enjoy competing with others.
I do not enjoy losing that competition because of 1 item that blizzard has deemed I don’t deserve because I’m not “lucky enough”
It’s legitimately a LUCK based item, There is nothing LEGENDARY about it AT ALL.
Tell me please, What is legendary about RNG?
It should just be purple and have the same drop rate as other purples if that’s all that makes it legendary.
I could honestly care less that its “legendary” I would prefer if they just didnt put any legendary items in the game AT ALL.
What I would prefer, is to be able to actually obtain my BiS weapon before the end of the season when the item is then worthless…
Why should I have to spend weeks or months farming for an item only to get to spend a couple weeks actually using it because the season ends and I spend the entire season trying to get an item instead of using it.
Played ret last season, grinded all the gear to be accepted into grps, never saw the axe, now im maining my warrior…none of the progress i made on my ret towards the drop rate transfers to my warrior, so im back to square one. This system is a nice way to punish new players of S4, returning players, and new alts for playing the game. i feel discouraged.
Depends on the ilvl honestly. I wasn’t replacing my Shadowlands gear until I was around level 67-68. But that was mythic gear for the most part (from mythic + great vault)
Given that the axe can be upgraded all the way to like 535 ilvl this season (14/14 upgrade track from the bullion vendor), I might not be replacing it until I hit level 80.
Likewise if you are an evoker with their legendary or a BM / MM hunter with the Razzy bow.
I put in the effort and got it on my main, and 3 alts… with one alt getting it from LFR after 8 kills (only on LFR). With at least a month left in the season.
But you said you were having a blast with the class while not having the legendary so either you misrepresented your feelings about playing the class or it must not matter to your play as much as you are making it out to. (Maybe you are better than you think you are and don’t need all the best toys to prop you up like less skilled players do.)
To me, it just sounds like a lot of frustration coming out due to the reward being out of your reach for so long, not an actual game design problem.
Which is okay and I sympathize.
It just seems a shame to give up a class, you said you were ‘having an absolute blast’ playing, over it.
