I really wish all casuals would unsubscribe, that may come off wrong, but I meant it in a positive way, I’m an unhappy casual, and I’ve already unsubbed. All casuals should for their own benefit, and WoWs detriment… Blizzard might finally decide to do something if their wallets were affected.
Improve yourself, you mean like exploiting m+ dungeons?
You’re quite snobbish for someone who’s only been itchin’ about having to actually put in effort for reward.
Maybe they just need to stop trying to make a crappy middle ground and just commit to one or the other already.
There are far more social friendly games and better mmos all around than this one. I dont think it has anything to do with bitter.
People just have so much time invested into this that is why its still the big dog. More and more people its becoming their 2nd choice though.
Not every game needs to be the same.
Just wait a few years, once all the die hards start to literally die WoW might change it’s tune since WoW hardly barely gets new players.
Can’t reply individually to everyone, so…
To all of you disagreeing so strongly and saying that casual activities awarding gear BELOW Heroic raiding iLvl would be a terrible idea, that “terrible idea” was in the game for over 10 years and helped the player base to grow. Casual activities used to reward raiding-competitive gear (granted not for all slots), even when there was no Heroic or Mythic difficulty level. (So effectively, Valor and badge gear was comparable to or just one tier below the best gear.)
The covenant sets only cover 9 slots by the way, and are still BELOW Normal raiding by 3-10 iLvls.
Fact-check yourself before you lose you minds with disdain and pride. No casuals are going to overtake you in iLvl or take away your endgame grind.
Someone who does not group beyond queued content actually has a cap that is much higher than 197 - they can buy Mythic raid BoEs (ilvl 226) with gold they farm as well as upgrade a legendary to 235.
Why do you go play one of those?
I use to run only Heroic dungeons in Cataclysm. I am fine with the Valor system and buying gear from vendors for THAT level of content.
But should I be able to buy Heroic BWD gear without having the gear tokens/currency from the raid? NO.
If I wanted Heroic BWD, I could have worked my way toward that goal, but as a casual player I understand the COMMON SENSE of allocating eward for the effort it took.
Where is your statistical data that it would be dead for the “Majority” of players. Im going to save myself time from typing and just answer all your points with…NO. Next post please.
Have you thought about working on an alt, to get through one of the other covenant storylines, and all of the goodies that come with that?
Also its cool that you are doing Mythic +0 with your friends, for that quest item (213 ilvl piece, right?), but +0 only drops 184. Have you thought about doing M+ with them instead? You would have access to the weekly great vault gear as well.
I realize that this is a very busy topic so I dunno if anyone else has brought it up, but these three are the most likely of the list of suggestions you put up. I also remember them doing stuff like this when the different seasons went live during BFA and I Think Legion (but It was awhile ago so its a vague recollection for that expac).
There’s a lot of focus on the new Valor system and rightfully so, but no one seems to be mentioning another side effect of a new season of M+ and that is that the difficulty raises, so they don’t necessarily want people to have to go through all the old tiers to get their toon ready especially if they had just leveled to cap.
I remember it happening in BFA specifically because people were pleased that baseline gear was getting beefier.
It may not get to 210, but I fully expect you’re correct about how it’ll go.
Quoting this for emphasis because even though people don’t like to step out of their comfort zone, I see so much of people still wanting to grow but the inner conflict this brings up. Its worth it guys, I swear. Once you start doing stuff thats a little tougher you’ll probably be amazed at how soon it feels natural.
I myself have finally started to focus on doing higher keys and downloaded the raider io addon just so my information is part of the system and people can see my progress when choosing groups. Now, when I say ‘higher’ they’re still low by many peoples standards, like 6’s, but I usually do lower ones because they’re easier to get into.
But I wanted to grow so I could do better in our raids, so its worthwhile to me. Get out there guys, its alright ![]()
Yes, but the current argument is people want those bumps while this season is still current. The “slow progression” is too slow for folks.
8.2 was what, a year, after release? 8.2 was catch up gear, not an alternate gearing method. Since we’re not there yet, why are we complaining about not getting near heroic level raid gear? And how long did it take to grind that gear anyway? Like to upgrade it?
Ohhhh, I thought they meant when we got the new patch. Time to open dungeon finder lol
I’m a little fuzzy what the problem you are trying to solve is. I’m not running out of things to do.
Don’t think you(or anyone for that matter) has a real say in the matter. Blizzard does what they think is best for the game. If that means you’ll get gear better than mythic raiding from pet battles so be it.
I’d say the casual cap is already really high, you can clear heroic or get up to 1600 easy being casual. not to mention to crazy ilvl gear you get from vault even by doing easy M+
