Rain from above

Rain from above is a pvp talent for Demon hunters. It gives them access to an ability called fel lance, which deals 6% of the targets maximum hp. This ability is on a 1 minute cd. It has an invulnerability frame attached to it as you fly up and a class having something like that which is comparable to a Palladin’s bubble is ridiculous considering they also have blade dance. This is considered in many of the people I have come across an overpowered ability due to the fact that it is available to a spec that already pulls insane amount of dps in an arena setting. Another point is there is a trait that after you eyebeam you get a lot of haste, pair that with RFA and you can tank people from 100-30 in a matter of SECONDS. I feel like a nerf that would make it viable still is decrease the dmg from 6% to 3% and remove the invulnerable frame from it as well.

What part of this PVP talent that nearly no rogue ever takes warrants a nerf do you think?

I do sometimes as a gap closer
I just need to remember I’m playing assas and everything dies in a kidney anyway :woozy_face:

The demon hunter one sorry thw have similar names

Thank you. I have made a somewhat decent paragraph to explain why I think it’s overpowered.

it only does big dmg because of the azerite trait furious gaze which pretty much brings you to haste cap … without that this ability is terrible just turns you intoa target dummy 30 yds in the air … it also causes you to out range your own healer on occasion …

Yikes I spotted the dh player

It feels SO much worse on maps with no/unreliable pillars like mechagon or lordaeron

Cant even AMS it because its just their autoattacks with 40m range.

LOL i love how people complain about a skill that you can line of sight them, fear them or even death grib them if you a DK. Rain from above is actually scrub detector bait. If a person cant deal with it you know they cant pvp. It has so many counters and is only some what effective on melee. Rogues can avoid it. Druids can avoid it, warriors can deflect it. and healers can out heal it. Go actually watch high level DH they will ouly use it on certain occasions because unless you use meta or eyes before it for the haste buff you cast the fireballs too slow and it can be out healed by even an off spec heal aka a non mistweaver can vivify and out heal it and so can a druid thats non resto. Its a garbo talent, and your better off using reverse magic, detainment, cover of darkness or mana rift.

There’s a very good reason you’re 300+ games deep to 1400 as a 461 ilvl dh in 2’s

In all fairness I’ve maybe seen 2 or 3 good rain from aboves this entire expansion, I see way more dh’s throw games away by going in the air at 20% and out of ranging their healer. But it’s just a really dumb ability that I don’t think should exist. Everything about it is stupid considering dh already has the best mobility and survivability of any melee

You are the true scrub detector

its a nice break sometimes it lets u run to the otheside of the map and top up…

Not trying to defend the ability since it does need to get a damage nerf, but it’s really nothing like bubble in terms of defensives. First of all, they’re invulnerable to both damage AND healing during the first few seconds that they’re up above 40 yards, secondly, they have a large window as they float down that they become super vulnerable, unable to move, use defensives, or stuns/incap and at the mercy of damage and CC.

I like to pre-vortex or clone them on their way up and watch them falling like a bag of potatoes. That’s the peak of happiness I have when fighting DHs in 2’s. Everything else is either depressing or tilting.

Also when they DC fel rushing back at you. That’s peak happy as well since it’s just God reaching down and saying “Not today you smooth brained mongoloid.”

You have 300 games and are hard stuck 1500. You are in no position to tell anyone what a scrub is.
