Always enjoyed the RPG aspect, and got to thinking about some of the fun hidden quests, bosses, and mounts. there are some really cool “hidden” bosses in the game, but mostly in dungeons (Nightbane -Kara, Plug -Gnomer, Yor- Mana Tombs). Which then got me thinking, are there any raids that have secret bosses? The only ones i can think of would be the lurker below or the hydra from the original ZG, both of which are fishing.

“Hidden” anything just doesn’t really exist, because it will be datamined, and if Blizz goes out of their way to make it so it won’t be, the second anyone finds it, it will spread and be documented everywhere.
There’s no point in “Hidden” stuff like that when information is shared so easily. Easter Eggs are one thing. Entire boss encounters are another. Just mark 'em on the map and journal.
Agreed, eventually everyone does know about i,t but it doesnt mean everyone can access it, Yor in Mana Tombs being a great example. And I enjoy doing old raids for tmog and the like, so i wasnt sure if anyone might have some examples. Plus i always think the mechanics to unlocking the bosses are fun to do, even if everyone knows
Many of the end game mythic bosses have secret “phases” and a few have secret bosses. Bastion of Twilight, and Throne of Thunder are 2 raids that have completely separate bosses you only fight if you do the hardest difficulty. Guldan and Kil’jaden have special Mythic only phases. Gul’dans especially can be considered another boss for spoilerish reasons.
Thanks! ill give those a look, i knew mythic raids had different mechanics ( i perosnally loved how they did the hard modes in Ulduar when it was fresh), but I didnt know about Bastion and Throne. Will def check those out
But i guess i was more curious about like secret doors or summoning bosses that you may not see first time through if you didnt know
Both are hidden, and you won’t see the way to them in those raids until it’s revealed to you. Of course it’s common knowledge now.

Wan’t there an mop raid boss that was hidden? I want to say it was the same guy you see on the throne in the vale now.

Nothing can ever be hidden anymore, since it’s shared within 3 seconds on the internet.
I like hidden and non-standard bosses.
Except the imp mother from Legion for the alchemy quest. The person that designed that whole thing has earned my ever burning hatred.
Oh yes, have a secret boss that drops no loot, is fiddly to get to, and stick it in one of the more annoying instances, and make people go kill it for their top tier craftables.
in wrath there is an Old Kingdom mushroom boss and he is there for timewalking.
Hidden Gnomeregan boss (lvl 120 now)
Was fun and games back in Legion, we did a 3 man tank/heals/dps and eventually got him down. If you want to challenge yourself try and do a solo. He drops a unique Toy you can’t get anywhere else.
Or days / weeks before it goes live.
