Raids too hard

Hear me out. I don’t mean I can’t beat it. I enjoy the challenge. I mean that classic isn’t built for raids this hard.

There is such a huge gap between specs, especially right now in season of discovery. Compare a melee hunter with lone wolf to the meta scorpid hunter.

Before if a classic player complained about their class not being viable in pve I would say “who cares? You can get by with a weak class.”

But you can’t really get by in BFD with a troll class. It already seems on this forum and other places are more concerned than ever (in relation to classic or vanilla) about their dps during bosses and their viability in raid.

Priests and hunters feel necessary for Lord Kelris. I think that boss in particular needs to be nerfed. This little class/spec viability is foreign to classic and I don’t like it at all.

I think blizzard probably will nerf Kelris in a couple months. I just hope next time they make a raid they dial it back a little bit. The first 5 fights I think feel pretty great.

Edit: Before, if a raid kicked a dps for low damage from molten core I’d think they are psycho. But when it comes to Kelris I can TOTALLY understand kicking bad dps or bad healers.

And that’s some sucky retail/ff14 crap.

So, your complaint is you cant bring a full raid of meme specs and clear the raid? Nah, thats just a skill issue.

Quit your trolling, how do we know what the ‘meme specs’ are on a brand new iteration of the game.

I mean I think I could bring meme specs for 5 or 6 of 7 bosses and eventually win by learning the mechanics and playing well.

Kelris however, unless your geared out of your mind you need serious healers and serious dps.

It’s amplified by the fact that the top healer spec and top dps spec right now are so far beyond the rest that the encounter is balanced around an unbalanced meta.

Only Blizzard would make raids with tight healing and dps checks with classes completely imbalanced; in fact, making a raid this imbalanced only further unbalances classes.

Its just another really bad decision, like making core role-defining runes locked behind 100 hrs of rep grind, or requiring one to kill legions of mobs 5+ levels above max, or found only in raids…

So many obviously bad decisions so little hope for SOD

Well let’s not ignore the good decisions. These 20 year old classes needed a fresh coat of paint badly. All I had to do to get my buddy to return to WoW this time around was get him to look at some of the runes.

But yea the rep grind sucks and the warlock tank being locked behind the raid is beyond stupid.

But your point is so funny because blizzard had to test this raid…there’s NO WAY they beat it with anything other than a priest or druid healer. Aint no way they beat Kelris with tank rogue, melee hunters, and healer mage.

Its really not.

This is true.

At worst, its one boss with too much magic resist.

Personal problem.

Probably. I agree.

Big difference here obviously is 10 man v 40 man, you can have a lot more slop in a 40 man. A lot more.

Op, your going to run into people whos whole enjoyment of this game is derived from gatekeeping content from people they will probably never meet.

It’s not even that. Some of the classes are so bad right now that even a good player is going to get kicked for not picking the FotM class.

“Well, sorry you wanted to play your favorite class during the opening of SoD. Better luck next time.”

Notice I didn’t say spec either, CLASS.

I shouldn’t have to have 6 different classes as the game progresses in order to enjoy myself. I legit felt like I was trolling my raid group last night and changed from frost to arcane for tonight. Knowing that it’s not much better…

Maybe I can beat the Warlock this time.

I made a post about this, but I think the problem is Kelris is too overtuned for SoD. As long as he exists in his current form class diversity is going to suffer.

They originally said it was ‘tuned for fun’ at Blizzcon, and then walked that back. Sad, really.

no no no. we need harder content in general.

this raid is not difficult at all. if u think kelris is hard ur dps isnt geared enough and not farming pre raids. they are just trying to get carried lol

majority of them are fine and feel great.

not true. again, its all on the players gear bro they are not farming pre bis. its also time for dps to start doing some mechanics. no more flat head syndrome u guys can do it come on i believe!

this is not something new. example instructor razuvious, noth for dispells, and many more examples. so stop trying to make it seem like a bad design. but u dont “need anything in particular” for this fight

hopefully not. it will become a boring snooze fest. i hope instead the people that find it difficult just leave to era.

no its just people do not want to have their time wasted by some moron that doesn’t want to farm pre raid bis, learn a few ez mechanics. and this has always happened in wow in every version so again stop trying to make it seem like this is not the case for classic

Arguing that the 200 magic resists on Kelris is fine. LOL

Hey thanks for the post but I’d actually appreciate if people who have actually done the raid comment. I’m sure you understand.

But when you say uninformed stuff like “you need pre raid bis” for level 25…as if there is even that much good gear outside of the raid to collect. Or stuff like 'you can beat it with troll classes as long as they have pre raid bis."

Like no dude. A pre raid bis priest heals 4x more than a pre raid bis healer mage. Priest stamina buff alone gives more health than a mage can heal over the course of a battle.

So I hope you understand. Go clear the raid and then come back to me.

Bring a hunter, bring a priest, get world buffs. Raids balanced to feel challanging with that. Without that? Kelris aint genna possible unless you have gear FROM the raid.

I agree. Nerf the last 2 bosses. Easy to do. Reduce mindblast damage, reduce the chain damage. Then last boss reduce the adds hp so if you dont have a mage you can actually handle them.

Too hard?
I did it for the first time today and we did 7/7 in 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Maybe it depends on your comp idk but it felt very much like LFR level to me.

i have cleared it twice already clown. and have amazing gear.

again clown there are pre raid bis lists that people are farming why do u think lvl 25’s are spam running deadmines XD

mages got huge nerfs 2 days in. and priests are actually meant for healing so makes sense.

like i said i have cleared it twice have amazing gear and will be running it again tonight. last raid we completed it with a druid healer and a holy paladin that usually plays ret XD. FOH only 70-90 hp heal. with no hots/shield

i mean hunters are very strong yea but dont need any of this. our top dps is a rogue atm in our guild, and like i said earlier we did bfd with druid and holy pally healing. so to me it just seems like u think u know what ur talking about but in reality u dont. ur a fool and complete garbage at the game. im done here u literally hurt my head with ur stupidity.

It 100% depends on your comp. Last night we went 5/7 and it took us about 40mins. We didn’t wipe a single time on any boss, one shot every boss up to Kelris. Then literally couldn’t go past Kelris all for the simple fact that we had a mage dps who was pulling 24 dps because of spell resist. The Mage basically became useless and we called the raid after about 25 pulls. We’re gonna try again tonight but sadly we are forced to ditch the mage due to dps checks on Kelris.

Ah yes that one almost whiped us.
Still we managed to one shot every boss and it was a pickup group.

How many melee/hunter dps did you have?
