The main reason for this would be that tier is a useless drop after all catalyst charges have been added. So it would make raid loot tables more meaningful after everyone has already acquired tier.
But additionally, it would put raid gear acquisition on the same level as mythic plus and delves.
Why should raiders get non-time gated tier pieces when mythic plus and delves do not offer the same option for tier acquisition?
Raiders are time-gated. They get 1 chance per week, per difficulty, per boss that has a chance to drop the tier piece.
Yes, it’s slightly above M+/Delves initially…but in the long run, it works out to be similar timeframes. Especially since M+ gets a free tier token at 2K.

We haven’t seen how M+ tuning looks in TWW S1…but usually 2k is waaaaaaaay easier for most players than AOTC.
Oh when you put it that way, I 100% agree - mythic plus is infinitely scaling whereas raids have a fixed difficulty, so mythic plus should award the best gear.

Having raid bosses not drop tier is actually a lot more beneficial for raiders in the long run because tier is a worthless drop once everyone in the raid has their four set.
Idk what you’re smoking. Not many people are capable of getting 2k M+ rating in a single week, and especially through normal gameplay where you don’t have access to very strong gear like DF S4.
You need to clear all 10s week 1 to hit 2k; and with both Tyrannical and Fortified active at level 10 it’s more like doing a 14.
You’re absolutely delusional if you think people are gonna be doing this in 1 lockout easily, especially going into the season without full set tier and [probably] the insanely powerful raid trinkets. Like less than 1% will be doing this lol
You don’t need 2 weeks anymore, you only need 1 week of 5s, there’s only one score now, all 10s would be more like KSH, not KSM
As a lowly scrub open world only player, I would like to say I still don’t know what tier is or what the catalyst whatever doohickey is for, and this has never stopped me from doing anything I wanted to do.
