Raids should allow up to 40 players, but at the cost of damage/healing

Raid instances support 40 players, but are tuned for 20 and can be tuned via an aura.
If you bring 20 players → everyone deals 20/20 (1x) normal damage/healing
If you bring 25 players → everyone deals 20/25 (0.8x) normal damage/healing
If you bring 40 players → everyone deals 20/40 (0.5x) normal damage/healing
etc etc

Why? Allow players to bring their friends/guildies instead of bench them. It’d be a conscious choice to go beyond the recommended 20 players. What do you guys think?

I think it’s never going to end with you people

even at 40 you’re going to have people whining that they can’t fit their whole guild in and they have to bench people

Yea, the bench is a massive issue at the moment. And getting runes for alts has made it a challenge to start up a second MC raid for us at least.

I like this solution! SoD is in a weird place where 40 man is obviously too large a raid to fill in the modern (post-covid) era, but then 20 man feels too small. Especially when p4 is actually fun and a ton of people are returning.

Just run with 17/18/19 and build your roster such that there’s no bench if everyone is on.

Much easier to just have normal difficulty allow up to 40 players tbh

I disagree, the flex raiding on world bosses is awesome. This is Season of Dads… not season of sweat-lords. Blizzards focus should be more on flexibility and fun, not ridged and catering to the 1%.

In a shocking turn of events, different people want different things!

What do you mean “you people”?
