Since the dawn of time and some after, there have been several ´´must have´´ utilities a group should have. One of them, and probably the most important one is Bloodlust/Heroism/Time Warp/Ancient Hysteria/Fury of the Aspect/…did I forget some??
The 30% haste buff it gives to your whole group is pretty much mandatory for every fight and every dungeon, so much so that fights or dungeons feel not doable without them, for the majority of the groups out there.
Which raises the question, why is this buff limited to a certain amount of classes? This does not fit in the idea of ‘‘bring the player, not the class’’. Often when I am about to do an M+ with my friends, who do not play a class that has excess to Bloodlust or w/e name you want to give it, we’re limiting our search to a small specific group because we do really need Bloodlust.
When looking for a healer, we have to reduce the search to only Shamans or Evokers, and it feels bad when you see a good Monk, Druid, Paladin or Priest sign up, and you can’t really take them, because they do not have Lust, a group of friends should not have one be ‘‘forced’’ to roll a class that has access to this utility, a raid (like Druids of the Beast for example, but any raid team goes here) should not be ‘‘nerfed’’ because they don’t have the right class with them and use a 15% haste buff through drums instead.
The same goes for battle res, it makes it so that you can cover up a team member’s mistake, although some would argue that it is less impactful than Bloodlust.
Instead of just complaining, I do however have a suggestion for this fix; Give all the Healing specs a form of Bloodlust and Battle res, you can keep the battle res on the existing classes as well since there is a global limit on how many you can use and it is nice to remove casting pressure off your healer in a tight spot.
If all the healer specs have Bloodlust, it removes the rather unfair decision-making when building a group for whatever content. We should pick a healer based on what we feel comfortable with and according to our preference, not because they bring Lust.
I know that this shouts class homogenization, but with something this powerful, I feel like it is warranted.
