With a total crafting overhaul then of course crafters will be equally entitled to own the best gear. The “work” of crafting is in terms of effort and dedication and commitment the same as the “work” of raiding.
I dont think you understand the commitment you’re referring to. Mythic raiding raiding requires a massive of amount of frustration, teamwork, a deep understanding of your class and role, etc. If you can find a way a way to incorporate that same amount of work in crafting, then I’m on board. But the only way I see that happening is by the crafted gear requiring mats that you can only get from mythic raids.
Most posters here are arguing from the elitist standpoint that only raiders are entitled to the best gear and that consequently it should be called “raid gear”.
Again, you just don’t understand. It’s not elitist at all to say that the people pushing through the hardest content in the game should get the best gear. That’s how this game has always worked because is makes sense.
No, that sounds like an awful idea. Skill is required to obtain the highest gear. If anyone could just spam a profession to max and make it, then join a mythic raid, they would continually wipe the raid as they would have no idea how to do it. Going through normal and heroic first, and learning the mechanics in them as you go is much better, and nets you gear to be able to go higher if you desire. I will say that they should probably change the mythic raid lockout mechanic when it goes cross realm though. That’s a pain.
How about no? Group efforts should be rewarded, practice and persistence should be rewarded. Otherwise no one will do that hard content.
If there is one rule of nature, it’s that living things will take the path of least resistance. And that’s really all that needs to be said.
This entire thread is disrespectful to the devs and raid designers who pour their lives into raid balance. Amazing work that many of us appreciate and enjoy.
I don’t even raid mythic, but the fact that other people do and are better than me helps improve my sense of immersion and frankly feels good.
Plenty of casual people don’t get caught up worrying about item level and are still able to enjoy themselves, maybe take a page out of that book
Unless that raid gear is going to take the equivalent logistic work and effort of 20 individuals to craft, then no it shouldn’t be on par with the highest difficulty in the game. You can’t be serious that you some how think that there should be gear equivalent to the hardest content in the game without having to put in equivalent effort.
That isn’t an elitist standpoint. You don’t seem to understand what the elitists/elitism is and are just throwing out the latest buzzword of the forums. What you are actually arguing is that the people disagreeing with you are disagreeing with you from a point of basic logic and for some reason you think that is elitist.
I don’t know why you think mythic raiders don’t do crafting or why you think that crafters having access to mythic level gear would some how result in displacement. Again, gear isn’t the inhibitor of people succeeding at mythic level raiding. Time commitment and ability are. Giving the masses max level gear without attaching it to equivalent difficulty does nothing but muddy the waters of lower difficulty content by having people think they can succeed because of iLvL since a great many people seems to think effort is not important in this game.
But you have your ridiculous anti-logic blinders on and you aren’t going to come around on that fact so you be you and have fun.
Well top end raiding is like everything in wow. Only a selected part of the community participates. As a raider who trys mythic lol, I never vote for harder LFR or heroic dungeons. We have one of the most accessible systems in place.
If you go into mythic and get frustrated and don’t have fun then its not for you.
