The main issue im seeing here with a lot of posts is that the gear and competition to be at an exceeding level arent working anymore…Raids are turning a game that once was pure with content turn into something like if arena turned to pve. Its not helping get gear but people run it in groups, so why TRY to convince people otherwise?
There is plenty of hypocrisy on the forums but even the most casual of players can agree that having more gear is GOOD gear, no matter the size of the group. Asmongold can do it so why not a regular player?

The replayability value of pvp & world pvp primarily is what keeps me around after I experience a dungeon or lfr 1 time and if i go back I fall asleep while doing that content. No even trying to exaggerate my eyes seriously start closing and I get drowsy lol.

I’m going to be honest, I really don’t PVP at all, but I’ve never felt that same boredom I’ve sometimes gotten going into certain PVE things. I know I could always do harder pve content, I get that, but PVP, even just random BGs always feels exciting because you really don’t know whats going to go down.
I’m noticing my guild is either getting worse or these raids are getting harder.
Either way they’re less fun but I wouldn’t say no fun

Raiding has been part of the game since vanilla, and as long as raiding has existed it was the best and often -only- source for the best gear in the game.
These days there are plenty of sources for high level gear most of which are on par with all but a handful of pieces from the last 2 mythic bosses (which only a few people are going to be downing anyways)
if anything, raiding has never been -less- important or impactful to the game as a whole.
isn’t this what people wanted after all? to not be -forced- to do raiding? and for the main reason to do it be because you wanted to enjoy the challenge of it? well this is what we got.

The playerbase is getting older and I personally find that my ADD kicks in after 2 hours of raiding. I used to be a sweaty try hard, who would be at my computer for hours in past raids.
The loot system is definitely a problem. I’d like to see a valor system put in place where we can not only upgrade gear, but get gear that we’re missing. Have valor drop from raids, LFR, PVP, WQs, whatever. Make the game feel rewarding. FFXIV does it, so can WoW

Yeah… I’m supposed to get more patient as I get older but I find I get less patient.
After the 5th wipe to the exact same spot of the exact same boss I just want out

The loot system is mostly a problem because the number of drops is ridiculously low.
They need to double it just to bring it on par with M+ in terms of per-person loot (2 pieces per 5 players) and that still doesn’t account for the weekly lockout that raiding has. Tripling or quadrupling the loot rate from raids would not be unreasonable.

Strange, the problem was never the Raids.
The problem started with M+, which basically trivialized Normal and Heroic.
Blizzard should eliminate M+, leave only 2 of the 4 Raid difficulties and let the professions have BoE equipment to sell, so we don’t need such a nefarious system as the Orders.
Some kind of currency with which we can BUY Raid gear wouldn’t be bad either, so we don’t depend so much on luck or the weekly chest.
Important word. BUY.
I don’t want a currency that I can use to upgrade, since after all I still need the LUCK to get that item first.

I dont know if you were aware but blizzard cant cover that sort of micromanagement in the playerbase
Except that mythic raiding still made it trivial, The arrival of mythic made heroic raiding nothing more than a stepping stone, I don’t know why people seem t want to lump this on M+ when the reality of it was post Siege of Orgrimmar Heroic became normal+
Since then Normal has been the go to for people that just want to experience the story, Nothing more and acting like it was/is tough is… laughable.
Then comes heroic raid, Heroic you outgear even without M+ within 4-6 weeks for most teams and 2-3 weeks with M+, It was still trivial even without us people who never want to step into a raid because they are mindnumbingly boring.
If your team is failing at heroic raid bosses now it is not because of gear, It is because of the individual, They are not hard.
Why? Raid loot has always been like this, you’d get 0-2 epics per week.
It only felt like the loot is too scarce because you compare it to M+, which is pretty much unlimited source of free loot.

No one is trying to convince people to raid solo
Everyone can do it. You just need to be part of a group and progress with them. You might not be able to clear Mythic, but that is expected.
Eh. Lfr is enough raiding for me.
I’m old and lazy so LFR keeps me content.
I don’t understand how Mythic can make Normal and Heroic trivial.
That’s called progression.
Most people do Normal, at least to get trinkets/weapons and then progress to Heroic.
And then Mythic.
Which is logical that then Normal and Heroic are useless.
That’s progression.
It’s the same with M+, isn’t it?
As one progresses the lower level keys lose value, one concentrates on making the higher level keys, or not?
The problem is that M+ is totally opposite to Raid.
You need few people, it’s something you can spam and has very little time demand.
Also…
There are more casual guilds that do Normal and Heroic as their maximum progression level. Either for lack of skill, lack of time or lack of players.
They are not really obsolete.

Lfr is just a version of the game that isnt reality though. Don’t you want to base your gametime in the real world and not some weird invention created by the developers?
So 18 years later, Raiding is starting to ruin the game.
A completely optional game mode you’re not even forced to participate in, is ruining the game, but only now, 18 years after its debut.
