Raiding (including legacy raids) needs a reset

Instant death mechanics have absolutely no place in LFR.

As time has gone on, Blizzard developers feel the need to make LFR raids harder for really no reason whatsoever. Stop it. Just… stop it. LFR (for better or for worse) was added to get people into raiding. Making LFR raids difficult completely defeats that purpose. There are 4 raid difficulties, which is probably too many anyway.

LFR should be a complete faceroll.

This brings us to legacy raids, particularly BFA. Even now, many are hard or even impossible (depending on the difficulty) to solo. Typically that is because of mechanics made worse by us STILL not having a legacy damage buff. Why? There is no reason for this.

I’ve heard it say that mechanics in certain raid encounters soloable make it more difficult to change. That’s easy: just remove old mechanics. Nobody wants them. Nobody needs them. They add nothing to the game, especially once the content is 2 expansions old.

For example, I’m currently doing some 8.3 legacy content. This has to be the most anti-alt and anti-MS patches in WoW history. No skip for the cloak. Azerite traits (now) should be freely changeable.

As part of that I need to kill N’Zoth. I never did this when the content was current. All the information out there assumes you’re going in with a raid and even at ilvl 415, level 70 I’m finding the fight reset or I instantly get killed for reasons I can’t find the answer to (no, it’s not sanity loss).

This is LFR FROM TWO EXPANSIONS AGO.

WTF?

LFR is a faceroll. It only seems like it is hard because 5 people immediately go afk and another 5 just right click the boss then go afk remaining 15 undergeared players have to finish it.

Are you wearing the cloak?

I remember easily soloing Mythic Hellfire Citadel in legion, one expansion prior. The bosses died in like 10 hits, it was great. It seems like BFA mythic (two expansions ago) should be easily soloable by now. Why no legacy scaling modifier and nerfs?

If LFR got any easier you would just stand in line, walk up to the boss and they would tell you how great you are and give you a loot box

LFR seems pretty face roll to me this season. I don’t think making it easier is actually going get people in to raiding, it’s just giving gear away at that point

I don’t have any opinion about legacy raid other than I wish I had access to a TW difficulty mode for all of the old raids because it would be fun to roll through an old raid with the guild once in a while at that difficulty.

Small revamps to a lot of the raids would be fun.

No. If anything, this attitude has me on the “delete lfr from the game” train.

Do you have a cloak to activate the extra action button for sanity? You could bring 1000 people and still die instantly without this cloak equipped.
Specifically, this cloak:

Okay! Ever heard of a game called Roblox? Might just be the game for you.

they are just out of touch…

legacy revamps or ping?

guess which they picked…

Don’t even need to spend a whole lot of time on a full revamp. Just turn off group mechanics when only one person is present badda bing badda boom

they need to move away from projected textures telegraphing incoming damage. Start easy and slowly ramp it up over an expansion but its ridiculous having everything a boss does have this preemptive splashpad warning attached to it.

The worm boss in sepulcher as an example, instead of having blue circles on the ground have blue circles in the bosses mouth, whichever “tooth” isn’t glowing blue is the ground relative area you have to stand to avoid the damage.

Zaqali and Rashok soak circles are hilarious

Yes. It’s rank 1 only but I am wearing it.

Yes for the cloak but one of two things happens.

  1. I seem to get killed by Project Mind or something like that. The tentacles are casting it. I don’t seem to have time to kill them all before Psychus hits max energy so I’m not sure what I’m missing; or

  2. Psychus hits full energy and casts something of Madness, which I think might charm me? Which effectively ends the fight and it resets.

I assume I’m htiting a phase change? By this time the extra button disappears (when my sanity was not 0). Again, I don’t know why it disappears.

This is a common problem for BFA and later raids. The videos you find online are all about it being current content. Sometimes when you solo content later a bunch of things become irrelevant but, worse, there are new problems (eg charming the only person in the fight will end the fight; something that never comes up when it’s current content).

I have no basis fto compare N’Zoth to since I didn’t play BFA. You will find reddit posts that say things like “just ignore XXX and do YYY” that seems to be written for people who have that context.

This has also been an issue with Glory achievements. I think there was an encounter in Hellfire Citadel that had a whole bunch of conflicting information and in reality I finally figured out you needed 2 people where 1 had to be a tank spec (who got swallowed).

Debugging all this when you didn’t do it when it was current and all the information is from when it was current can be incredibly frustrating.

You guys didnt play Cata or MoP, if you think current LFR is harder in any way.

Sure they do. :dracthyr_heart: It’s fun, memorable and thrilling for there to be some amount of danger. Casual players often can’t commit to guilds/groups, but that doesn’t mean that they’re dumb/bad and need to be coddled.

Who doesn’t get a good laugh out of getting yeeted off a boss platform now and then?

Right? Durumu wouldn’t have been as memorable if his laser didn’t cut you in half. :dracthyr_love_animated:

Just have Blizzard mail you everything after an expansion ends. You mean, people actually enjoy old stuff?

Just go play “good” games like Diablo 3 and 4 where loot is plentiful.

The gunship battle in ICC was made into a one-shot boss kill. However, it is one that would have been near (if at all) impossible to solo. No LFR back then so it was not toned down to begin with though.

What my friend feels is that as raiding has become more accessible, it has been made harder, to counter that accessibility.
