I was looking up destro warlocks on warcraft logs, looking at someone who was high up the dps list and they have 41% mastery and 25% crit and 21% haste. This confuses me a little beacause they’re dps was so high but all the guides Ive found push crit and haste.
We naturally have a lot of Mastery.
Stats aren’t zero-sum in the way that you’re assuming in this post.
You don’t want too much of one stat or two much of both stats, a good mix of everything is usually fine.
Typically, most high-end warlocks will just sim their gear choices and pick which one is better based on what raidbots says is better – this will naturally mean that it equalizes crit, mastery, and haste over your gear choices. This doesn’t mean that one stat isn’t usually always better, but that depending on your distrubtion, one stat might end up slightly worse than another in a given context.
Versatility is the only stat which is similar to destruction mastery, but has a lower conversion ratio which is why it isn’t valued for pure damage throughput.
