That’s not a lot different than using WCLs but still gross IMO.
No clue why they keep going on about community in that write-up when the entire point of the tool is to take all sense of community out of the game and facilitate judging others based on numbers alone.
To be honest, I skimmed the entire thing. I saw community over and over and thought “Well… that is the polar opposite of what raider.io is about so that makes no sense” and then posted what I did.
All I know is that raider.io being there was a major turnoff to me doing anything at all with other people when trying Retail for a few months and therefore I didn’t.
Raiderio isnt a problem for M+ either. Invariably the people complaining are people trying to get into other people’s higher level keys prematurely. and refusing to use their own key, which reflects bad judgement and selfishness. These same people are much more likely to brick your key or take hostages etc. I’ve raised io on very off-meta specs, you just use your own key. If you’re applying to other people’s keys you should expect them to be picky about who they take, just as anyone would be.
So the really good players are coming back to classic era finally. I’m kind of surprised it took this long. I really don’t see the issue with accountability in raiding especially when it is a guild thing. Don’t like having your numbers checked don’t raid with guilds that require it. The guilds that do require high standards for raiding are very up-front with their expectations.
No good players play Classic. Just wannabe good players who need to validate themselves against casual players who don’t care and are just trying to have fun.
It’s like the overly aggressive guy at pick up basketball who constantly knocks other people down and tryhards against them when everyone is just there to chill and play some friendly basketball.
You’re not required to join one of these guilds. Why do you care if they exist. Having been in a few guilds with high requirements in both pre-som, som and retail I’ll never understand the hostility towards them. The nicest group of people I’ve played with in both retail and classic. No Drama, no green eyes, no lazy players, fast raids, very honest and upfront about what is expected and how their reward system works.
Your attitude towards PVP groups is raid groups is bizarre. Maybe it’s just because you can’t cut it in PVP but can pull out a decent raid parse.
Granted the guilds I’ve run have required logs and now use WCLs. In that way, things won’t change because WCLs have always been there for Classic.
Although drama has absolutely nothing to do with the number WCLs or raider.io show. Like ZERO. You can be the best raider in the world and decimate a raid team with a bad attitude. If your guilds were good that means that your leadership knew how to screen personalities, not just numbers. A good raid team also trials.
Keep in mind the thing that kept me away from PVP premades was the Bracket limitations. It created a toxic environment pitting team mates against team mates that I want no part of it. So essentially the new patch, by doing away with brackets, did away with that issue once and for all.
Most high caliber players are very easy to get a long with. The only life long friends I’ve made from wow classic and retail came from guilds with high expectations. For the most part everybody knew what to expect and were just glad to be playing with other players of the same try hard mindset. The only bad attitudes I saw were those people who were cut for not being willing to adjust specs, work on rotations, and/or getting better at basic mechanics.
I’ve run guilds with performance expectations. I know how it is.
There are good and bad personalities at both ends. There are very good players who will get angry at whatever and split up a guild. If you haven’t seen this it’s probably because you’ve done no leadership.
