Raider IO ruining group finding, High IO only accept equal IO regardless of skill, never give anyone a chance

Here’s my issue. It impossible for me to raise my IO because the really high IO people, that are 1000+ and over, will only accept others around that range.

Been around 600+ IO for about a week now, I find it almost impossible to get into any groups 700+. Almost always insta denied.

I don’t have a dedicated group to run with so my key usually gets messed up when I do public groups.

I’ve had maybe 3 solid groups out of 50 since the release.

Insanely hard to push my key to even a +10.

Every week now I’ve been able to get my key to a +9 and the last 2 weeks I have missed timer by about 1:00 or 30 seconds and ended up downgrading the key and just giving up.

My dps is good, and I know all of the fights/ dungeons, the problem is that all Raider IO shows is a gearscore type rating and thats all people care about.

Seems to me like this addons ruins the LFG experience, I am unable to get to where everyone is at because I haven’t been running as much as them.

I’m almost always #1 on the DPS meter, but nobody cares about this, all they care about is wanting my IO score to be 1000+ or whatever their ridiculous requirement is.

So its basically impossible for me to get my IO up because all the same people are just getting into groups with each other and and everyone else is left to keep boosting the same people up that aren’t very good or are low dps.

It really sucks to be #1 on the meter and have 2 other dps not really pulling their weight and end up having the key downgraded each week, then try to find a group that knows what theyre doing, and get denied every single time because my Raider IO score is “too low” for their standards.

This is going on my 3rd week where I feel I won’t be able to make it to a +10 mainly because all the peopel that could help me run and get there have insanely high standars and won’t even give a player a chance because of an addon score. Feels impossible to get into good groups and actually help my IO score, and get to where they are.

Honestly most of the time I feel like I’m denied just because I’m a Warrior. Only sitting at 204 or 205ish item level. Have my BiS legendary, 21% haste, 20% crit, 15% mastery, I know what gear I’m looking for, but nobody cares, all they care is that my IO is 1000+ for a 10+ dungeon. But since I’m unable to get into a group to actually complete a dungeon it feels hopeless.

The only reason I don’t feel like running my key is because then I’ll just be carrying other people who probably aren’t geared for it or don’t have the dps for a +9 and end up going back and forth between a +8 and +9 over and over because I can’t make time on the +9.

It’s like there’s no in between, its either I make a group for my key and have to accept people around 400-600 IO, or I sit here for 30 minutes trying to get into every +9, 10+ or +11 that I can find on the group finder and get denied from all of them. It feels hopeless.

I would run with my guild but most of them are only running +5’s +6’s and +7’s, sometimes 8’s, and on the +8’s usually not making time or really struggling with even the mechanics/affixes.

Getting to the point where I just feel like rerolling maybe a hunter or mage and seeing if people will accept me just because those classes are “pulling more dps”, even tho my dps is fine. I usually end the dungeon with around 3-3.5k ending dps average, which is plenty for making a +9 or +10, and probably +11’s.

But since in whisper its a bit hard to explain this to people, and all they care about is some addon score, its hard/ near impossible to get into any decent group. Forced to find / carry people with low dps. I think maybe 5 dungeons out of the 50 I have done, I was #2 dps, and by barely any, every other time I have been #1. If only Raider IO could show average dps or something like this to help you get into groups, which I actually realize could make it even more toxic of an addon.

Just feels extremely frustrating when I login and I’m like, I’m going to go push my key to +10 and maybe higher today" and then end up missing timer again by 1:00 or so because I’m “carrying” lower dps.

Maybe if you started being selective, you wouldn’t have this issue.

Everybody else has the same problem. That’s why they use RIO in the first place.

Yes, inflated requirements are a problem, but seemingly you’ve gone too far in the other direction and aren’t being selective enough.

Also, add people from those solid groups and try to run with them again.

This seems more likely than IO score. Even if you get a high IO score there is a long list of classes that would typically get invited over a warrior of equivalent ilvl/IO score (e.g. any ranged DPS, even a couple melee).

You could give away the defeatist attitude or you can stay at 720 .io for the rest of the expansion, it’s up to you really.

People can and do achieve KSM in pug groups running their own key. You need to be selective, you need to use voice comms, and you need to stop making excuses for why you can’t do it, and instead just do it.

Look up your raider.io profile and target your lowest value dungeon you’ve done. You ++ a plaguefall 6 but it’s only worth 63.6 points if you up’d that to a +10 it would put your score up by 40 points.

I feel you. It is very hard to get a spot in a 10+ key as dps, particularly as a warrior, and all this built your own key, as PUG, is bs.

Very few good tanks and heals will join a group with a DPS lead, as this roles can make their groups easily. What you get, most of the time, is people still learninghigh keys routes and affixes.

They will do others ppls key ussually because theirs is lower. Only in very specific cases, like needing a particular dungeon, or carrying friends (it is common to tanks queue paired with DPSs) good tanks will run other ppls key. So yeah, most of the time your key will be screwed.

Im using mines just for vault completion, without hoping of time it.
But it is not Raider IO fault, but rather the timer. Blizzard should stop downgradidng key and taking loot if not timed. That would make ppl a lot less picky when making groups

Time should have being used only for progression, if you timed the run your key would be upgraded, otherwise it would stay at the same level, as long you COMPLETED the dungeon.

The downgrade should only occur if you werent able to complete teh dungeon, a clear sign that that content is above your capacities atm.

Downgrading push ppl into being way too picky and is the real responsible for the problem

this is a new and interesting subject that has never been beaten to death before!

Lol I’m almost 1400 io and I get denied from keys. It’s a joke. Unless you play Mage, WW, Hunter, Rogue GL. You will never get invited to a key. Gotta run with friends. Is this retail or classic. Blizz needs to buff every under performing class/spec rn, I’m talking 20-30% sweeping buffs. Otherwise people will just quit who aren’t playing meta.

Content keeps getting harder, and the chance for noobs to screw things up and waste everyone’s time keeps increasing

Raiderio is really just a way for me to see “has this guy done a 10 before?” and “has this guy done the current key level or 1 level lower for this dungeon?”

Everytime I’ve ignored it, that person has cost the run and wasted everyone’s time.

So, I don’t ignore it

The solution for someone like you is to 1) use your own key and build it up 2) work on your IO score by doing all the dungeons on progressively harder difficulties

lol. if you are almost 1400 you were invited to some keys.

too many dps around. if you ask dps players “why don’t you tank or heal” they would say i wanna dps most of the time.
so there is inflation of dps especially beginning of an expansion.
Yes build your own group takes time too, but you should be picky when you create or apply to a group.
I had groups with 170 ileveled friend getting boosted. sometimes i left sometimes i stayed.
I know it is hard to get an invite But when you join a group you should check if other members are competent to time the key.

Yep raider io kind of killed m+ for me. If you play dps and have low io you basically don’t get to play this game. And it’s kind of a shame tbh because m+ is a cool idea, it’s just backed up by a horrible and elitist addon.

something does not add up.
IF your rio is around 600+ . you finished most dungeons +8 +9. You are complaining about not getting invite to +10.
If you have all dungeons +9 , eventually you will get invite to +10.
also doing the highest dps is good and important, but sometimes those players especially warriors don’t do interrupts and mechanics. I have seen a lot.
also you don’t have much utility to use, so you only focus on dps most of the time. In example a good rogue can use kidney shot to stop casts of dangerous abilities and that drops their dps. they could use combo points for doing damage. that doesnot mean they are bad.

this is weird. you are not the only person claiming to be good and not getting invited. there are lots of players like you. so find those people.
Create a premade and write “good players with low io, rio increasing group” , see the result.

you can check those dps’s dungeon in time completion rates from site.

before rio, in legion maw of souls dungeon, we enter +10 tyrannical, tank gets destroyed by first boss and we kill the key (depleted).
after rio, you can see who finished and +10 tyrannical maw of souls.
you invite that guy and finish the dungeon.
yes rio created elitism but definitely increased dungeon success rates.
there are only problems in system: 1. boosted characters 2. only score pushers (they leave after first sign of time failure)

“If you play dps and have low io you basically don’t get to skip over progression and have other people carry you to the keys you want without learning the lower versions first”

There, I fixed that for you.

If you’ve timed all 10s and 11s, its still going to be really hard as a melee dps to get into +12 or +13. Are those keys that much harder or different than a +10 or +11? No, they aren’t.

If you time an 11 you get a 12. If you time those 12s then you have have all 12s and will find it easier to pug into 12s. Repeat as necessary for each key level.

The bottom line is, if you’re pugging group content, especially as dps, you need to be ready for the fact that there are more of you than necessary, and people will select the people with the highest qualifications, not the people who may meet a bare minimum of competence. Why take someone who as timed all 10s and 11s and who may be fine in 12 and 13 when you can invite someone who has timed all 14s? This is a basic supply and demand issue, and getting salty about it isn’t going to fix your problem. Getting a steady group and taking control of you key situation will.

I’ve posted this before, but there’s just a high amount of people applying for groups. You can get 30-50 people applying to your key in a matter of minutes.

Something I’ve noticed especially lately with geared pumping low io. They have no awareness and terrible with mechanics. I did 9 with few buddies to help them on my monk. We got a 400 io geared Warr. We timed and he was top dps but he died several times to mechanics and if we cc stuff before the pull he would break it.

I never been one to care much about logs when comes to keys, but even in BFA when many guilds got ce, I saw same sh!t. Dps having no idea how to do mechanics and try cheese with big dps.

Also my guildies always complain about pugs but they always invite the first person with nice ilvl, then wonder why it fails. Pick the right people and experience matters.
