Raider IO isn't the problem, Blizzard is

No, the problem is the average or even below average player watching “professional teams,” run +18s that they’ve practiced every detail of and thinking that’s the way they are supposed to play their +10s

I feel like it’s more this than anything else. Every time I push my key, I get droves of DPS signing up that haven’t timed anything over a 9 trying to get into a +15. Why? Because they raid “heroic” and they can’t get upgrades from a +5 or a +10. Basically, they want to skip the entire progression path. Over, and over, and over we see this happen every single season.

Consider the mindset. They have no love for m+ (else they would have the experience) and they know that, even they wipefest it, they can still get their weekly reward. Timing the key has little to no value for them. They bump against players who enjoy m+, for whom timing the key is the paramount objective. And they must bump up against them, because you can’t fail your way into having a +15 key. The friction comes when these two collide with different goals and different skillsets.

If m+ didn’t give rewards for failing the key, raiders would just avoid it like they do PvP. It also frees up the team to increase the rewards for m+. It might make failing to time a key more punishing, but I argue it’s no more punishing that sitting through 40 more wipes after you learn the mechanics on a boss while you wait for Jerry to figure out his left from his right OR trying to teach your buddy Kaercha who’s never PvPd not to pillar dive on RMP (I’m living through this right now).

Remove the rewards for failing and raiders will either learn to love it or leave it alone for the rest of us.

It may be the majority - but I also think the aspects of ignorance are vastly underestimated.

I don’t think people don’t realize when they’ve been declined because the group already has someone of the same class. I know that’s the case FOR Sure with boomies. You just don’t need 2 when they have a1 minute interrupt.

I also think people don’t realize when I group has filled and delayed vs being raw declined. The lfg window shows “declined” in either case, but you get a message in your chat window specifying which - my suspicion is a lot of people don’t look at the latter.

There’s a weakaura that shows the classes in the groups you’re applying for. Maybe blizzard should bake this into the stock UI

It would be nice if they did. I think I see that info from elui’s wind tools addon.

But I think a lot of the players that complain about getting declined have neither, so they’re reacting emotionally without the full picture.

Humans…

There are LFG filter addons that do that, too. Really helpful info when pugging. Blizz’s whole LFG tool needs better filters, imo.

Start your own groups. There is no problem.

I really can’t stand the complaining about meta but

What actually is the viewership of MDI? I can’t imagine people actually watch it, but they must?

Blizzard nor Raider.io are the problem. rather the real problem are players like you who believe there is a problem.

The real core of the issue is that there are players who want their hand held or players who feel entitled to achieving the top achievements or getting the top rewards for little to no effort and/or without having to put in the effort or grind to achieve them.

So when these players realize they can’t easily achieve the reward or achievement they are seeking without having to sink time or effort into it, instead these players scapegoat raider.io or Blizzard as the reason why they can’t achieve their goal, when in reality they themselves are the one and only thing holding them back, and for proof of this, all they would have to do is look at the other players (even of the same class/spec) who have achieved the reward/achievements they are seeking, the players who were willing to put in the time and effort.

The fact there are literally players who are pushing +20 and higher keys of virtually every spec, is a testament that raider.io nor blizzard is the issue, rather it’s solely you holding yourself back and convincing yourself that it’s not possible to complete your +8 key on time.

and it is.

the game will give literally any player a key for doing a m0

The toxicity we see here on the forums surrounding m+ comes from people who won’t get a key, who won’t make a group, who won’t network with friends, who won’t join a guild, who won’t roll a tank, who won’t join a discord, who won’t won’t won’t, getting upset that people who will do the above things won’t blindly invite them.

People need to start thinking “if I was the leader of that group and I saw myself apply would I invite? Plenty of people whine no one will accept they if they aren’t overqualified but then they put their own group together and demand 1000 io for a +4 key lol.

Yep, people who haven’t done any above 5 (even counting alts) but apply for a 10 and if they get declined they claim it’s because of the elitists. I have done everything on 10 and some 12s so I won’t apply for anything above 13 yet because if I was the leader I wouldn’t accept me.

Yeah, not even just specifically class but group set up as well. Maybe the group had one dps slot left and they’re looking for a Rogue to shroud, or they don’t have a heroism yet… some people edit their group title but some don’t.

they should.

there is SO much they could do to improve the LFG ui.

show us the comp of the group we’re signing up for

look at Premade Group Filters addon for ideas on how to improve the search

look at LFG Spam Filter for ideas on how to block the WTS ads.

etc.

Definition of fun changes from person to person, you cant expect that what you find fun be the same for others.

How many threads about this are you gonna make before you finally just admit to yourself you aren’t good at the game

Carries and gold-buying would exist with or without the token, just look at Classic.

yea, it should just be baked into the game somehow instead of needing a crappy 3rd party addon since people believe its so obligatory to making mythic+ groups

Raider IO =/= iLvl
Raider IO is more like a fully constructed meal.
You either get a Michelin Star meal (completed high keys + raids + Correct stats)
Or a Fast Food meal (low keystones + no raids + wonky random stats)
Whereas your iLvl is the individual ingredients that make up the meal.

Raider IO is bad I have no problem beating 15s I can not use LFG I either have to make own group or get people in my guild. I usually do 14 for the weekly and stop for the most part. But because people don’t like my class I can’t use group finder to join a group.
