Did an underrot 4 on my 360 fire mage with a group that was 360+. Unfortunately warfront gear gives such a misleading ilvl that it was horrendous.
There were unnecessary pulls, numerous one shots, and 0 mechanics. It felt like noone tried at all.
Until convinced otherwise if I see you without mythic x gear on that piece you’re getting kicked unless you have a good io score… which is unlikely if you don’t have that mythic x piece
Raider IO is what happens when judging by ilvl is not enough ( considering how easy it is to gear ) and how there is little challenge outside of M+ / Raiding.
People want to be assured they’ll not only be able to complete the M+, but in a decent time. This tool was made by the community, for the community.
It was made by a small segment of the community to help control the community as a whole. I do not participate in M+ runs this expansion, and have no desire to run with someone that feels a quasi-moral superiority because they have a higher score than me. I’ve been running stuff since Molten Core in Vanilla. The community is not brought together by tools that are meant to segregate it.
This is what you perceive, but you didn’t ask the group organizer I take it ? A lot more happens in the background when forming a group, many dps will line up and only a few will be picked, not just if they’re ranged or melee but as to what they can bring.
Higher rating means you’ve survived higher dangers, but there are many groups that do not require a higher IO or one at all.
And to the last point, if people want convenience and reliability , they will seek it. If not for raider io, then wowprogress, wowlogs even your wow profile for how many runs you’ve done as statistics. The majority of the community embraced this tool for a reason.
Lesson learned is don’t randomly pick names out of a hat based on arbitary values and automatically expect a great run – realize you are rolling the dice every time and deal with the crap shoot or don’t play that game and create yourself a pool of regulars to exclusively run keys with.
First, you were running Underrot, which was probably the biggest mistake made.
Second, I understand your frustration but here’s some food for thought. I ran m+ back in Legion, up to 12 & 13 initially, and nearer towards the end, I was pushing 14s. I ran one Underrot m+ this expansion and it was a +3. We wiped once, would have made it in time, but the healer bailed with 1 boss left and 15 minutes left on the clock.
So in order for me, a 359 B DK to join you, I already need a good io score, which if I had it, I wouldn’t be running +4s anyways. I wish you the best of luck with your endeavor…
This is what people don’t understand, Raider IO is an aggregation of statistics found on your wow profile; sites like Wowprogress and wowlogs pull data from this source and people have been looking at it for years when making the decision to recruit someone to a guild, or to decide if they want them in their heroic 5 man run.
What changed is that another tool arrived and put a score to the data that’s pulled. If its removed, people will still decline a lot of people based on data found on sites I’ve already mentioned, only a bit of convenience will be lost.
It’s not about raider score. ilvl etc this is more about mechanics and if people can pay attention to detail and apparently that group couldn’t. God I missed back in the day when i ran raids i looked at people’s skill and not ilvl/gearscore
