so I noticed the other day when I listed a mythic + key in group finder that the original raider io addon got converted to the new blizzard scoring system.
I have both the original raider io addon installed and I also have a weak aura that shows peoples score on their name when they que up so I don’t have to hover over their name to see. There were not two different scores showing on people in que, it only showed one score and that score was from the blizzard system.
It also is only showing peoples score for “post season” when it got converted. For example I looked up someone on the actual raider io website and it showed their season 1 score as 1800ish but on my addon and weak aura in game they showed up as having over 2100 score.
Now the only way to get more detailed run history and number of past runs etc is going on the website. I didn’t know that the blizzard scoring system would completely replace the raider io one in terms of what the addon shows you. What do you guys think about this?
I think it’s a great change as there won’t be two different scores–everyone’s on the same score. RaiderIO explained their rationale for changing their system to match Blizzard’s HERE.
I don’t know what you’re talking about with the run history being deleted as that’s not the case. This is my tooltip off live as of this post still shows I have 9 runs at +15, 42 runs at +10-14, and 16 runs at +5-9. You can see this on other players in the LFG tool by holding the control-key down when you hover over them to inspect their score (as it has always been).
There are other posts on RIO’s blog/news that might be worth your time. They worked with Blizzard on the new Mythic+ scoring that is now native to the game without an add-on.
Blizzard’s system is just a raw score. The add-on still provides run history and break-down by dungeon and a great deal more detail if you use the website lookup for a character. In short, Blizz didn’t take all of RIO’s functionality, so RIO still has value to many M+ players that were using it previously. That value comes back to RIO in Patreon support and corporate sponsored ads. There might be other revenue streams but I don’t see those two obvious ones declining much because Blizz added a score without the run history or detailed progress look-up.
I would put money on that blizzard needled them until they got what they needed then dropped the r.io people on their rears. The new system does its best to obfuscate the skill gap between people running +5s and +15s and +25s. Exactly the kind of terrible crap that i knew blizzard would do if they ever implemented the system themselves which is why i was a staunch advocate of blizzard keeping their filthy mitts off the system.
The way I see it is this… Blizz is trying to understand the issues why people complain they cant get invited to Mythic+.
They will never use an add-on to understand the problem. They have to make their own scoring system and that’s the first step. From there, they would collect data to figure out how to resolve the issues.
To me, there’s 2 groups on Mythic+. Those who need carry who complains they cant get invited on the group. And those elites who denies low skill people becoz they are afraid their high keys would be ruined by them.
Well, let’s see how this would pan out. Hope Blizz would come up with something to satisfy both groups.
The reason why most people can’t get invited to M+ is because they are dps. If you drop a dime it will land on 2-3 dozen dps. And to top this off fewer and fewer tanks and healers pug because of the abuse we get from dps players. Unless blizzard finds a way to curb this toxicity and convince us that they have it’s not gonna get better.
Silenced players cannot search or apply to active groups.
A group will automatically delist and cannot create a Group Finder listing if there is a silenced player in the group.

Also I think there was a change made where it takes less people to get someone yeeted from the game if they are reported by enough people but as I have no official Blue post on that I can’t confirm
Update - so when I made my post above, it was working fine. But I logged out, did some errands, when I got back RIO had an update, and now no tooltip shows up at all–it’s like RIO isn’t working.
