I feel that raidbots devalues critical strike a little too much if you have an on proc crit source ( blightborn infusion, conch of darkness)
While running top gear it will pull me down to 18% to substitute haste and versatility gear.
Sometimes this worked out great if the procs are with me, but most of the time I was just hitting way too many 70k spikes for my liking.
Changed things up and felt a lot better about it from a consistancy standpoint.
No real reason for throwing this out there other than I am bored and beware if raidbots devalues your crit too much as frost.
Doing so will devalue your trinket and/or azerite traits. I would still go with raidbot since it’s basically proven with math. It may “feel” more satisfied due to seeing more crits but is it better damage done?
Raidbots and simming in general assume that you are fully raid buffed, using two pre pots in the fight with bloodlust and a dh for the magic damage buff. It also assumes that you are doing your rotation perfectly with very little downtime. If all of the above are true for you then following its suggestion might be beneficial but I think the large majority of players this is not the case and so raidbots/simming should be used as more of a general guideline.
If you have a lot more haste than crit, while you will crit less with spike, you’ll also be casting more spikes to make up for it. The secondary stat weights for frost are usually pretty close making the higher ilvl the better choice for the most part aside from azerite armor and rings
I think you’re talking about sim dps vs what hes actually getting out of a top gear sim. Top gear is going to try and make the most out of the choices you give it. If all you have are bad choices it probably won’t feel significantly better but you should in theory be the best version of what you could be at that time.
Have you tried AMR, it tells you which stats are more valuable to you based on your current gear. Besides it being a paid subscription service, I think it works great.
