Raidbots or AskMrRobot

I am trying to decide which one is better. Easier to use. Which one do you prefer?

You don’t have to sim anything. It’s a mindset like this that keeps players forever unhappy and devs jobs at balancing gear miserable. Don’t look at dmg meters. Just equip whatever is the highest IL. I seem to be doing fine at 3/8M and a week 1 AotC

Ask Mr. Robot is definitely easier to use. It lets you choose your major essence and then it tells you which minors to use. I go to Bloodmallet for major essence data.

People worry way too much I agree on this. It’s not enough to just kill the bosses anymore. u.u

In my opinion it depends on your level of play… If you’re a cutting edge mythic raider you should be simming and using raidbots… If you’re just an average player who wants to have fun, not worry about min/maxing but want acceptable info, AskMrRobot works ok. Not all of their choices are my choices… and I don’t always follow their azerite suggestions… (I use the info from icy-veins personally)…

Raidbots was my savior when I raided Mythic.

You’re a bloody tank, you’re supposed to equip highest ilvl. Tank sims are only for dps, there’s no tank survival sims, so unless you’re the kind of player to worry about damage output because you actually want to do a good job (and you’re clearly not) of course you wouldn’t.

Mate, go away.

And very wrong.

Mate go away.

“If you’re a casual, it’s ok to be given incorrect information”?

AMR hasn’t been accurate or truly kept up to date since MoP. Raidbots uses Simulationcraft, it’s just a user-friendly interface for it. It’s significantly more accurate.

AskMrRobot is complete trash nowadays.

Raidbots. There’s no point in using AMR and there hasn’t been since they removed reforging. Always use top gear on RB because it’ll give you more accurate numbers than stat weights.

Robot is also always wrong.

Ask Mr. Failbot is still a thing? I remember that from Cata, and it being crap then.

Alternatively, sims are a great tool at helping players get better or helping players understand things like stat weights.

What tools do you use to improve your performance as a player?

jUsT dOnT sIm!

LOL why would i ever want to get better? If i just choose ignorance ill somehow magically be happier! The stupid crap the forums spew somedays…

Sims are good for determining your potential based on your gear and the abilities slotted while playing perfectly and dps meters are nice (keep it hidden while fighting) when you look at them after a fight and smile at your high numbers or frown when they are low.

Keep striving to get better but always remember knowing your rotation, knowing the fights and knowing what to do and when to do it is more important then either of those. Even being unlucky with loot drops and never getting your best stats you can still do decent dps by knowing your rotation and knowing the fights.

Dude, you’re a tank…wtf?

OF COURSE YOU DON’T HAVE TO SIM.

JFC, people…

If you’re a LFR raider, don’t worry about simming.

If you’re trying to push mythic content, use raidbots.

Raidbots is basically a web version of SimulationCraft, and I love it. Seriallos has done a great job with it.

You can just copy/paste the simc data (SimulationCraft addon, and /simc to get the info) from in game, use Top Gear, then pick and choose what you want to sim. Make sure to look through all the options, because you have everything there for you.

I use raidbots and sim religiously…and I’m far from a hardcore player.

To me, ilvl can go die. I can care less about an arbitrary number. New gear exists so I can perform better, if a higher ilvl piece causes my performance to be worse off than before? Then it’s not really an upgrade is it?

Why equip a piece of gear that makes you actively worse than you were before?
