Raid+, why isn't that a thing?

I want old raids to be a thing, could go by wings or maybe singular raid boss fights picked from older raids (for example queuing up for Garrosh Hellscream). It would work similarly to mythic+, in the sense that it would be a progression that scales depending on the difficulty level, you could gear up from it and it would be full of toxic people.

How is this not a thing yet? I cant be the only one who wants Raid+.

We already have a scaling raid system.

Haha

I wasn’t ready! Don’t make a guy laugh with no warning, I was eating

But heck yeah I would try a single boss (no trash, queue in style) version of raid+

The first sentence I wrote has to do with wanting older raids to be a thing, and they could work like mythic+. Kind of like how mythic+ takes dungeons from older expansions.

So just the current raid system, with old raids upscaled.

Because of how time involved raids typically are, that is most likely why this isnt happening. It would tear apart some guilds. And it would mostly put “casual” players at a larger disadvantage.

No not the current raid systems, it would work like mythic+. Raids and mythic plus both scale, you are correct, but it’s still not the same system. And like I said in my first post, it could be by wings or by singular boss fights, it doesn’t have to be the full raid. Here let me quote my first post because I think you forgot to read it :
"I want old raids to be a thing, could go by wings or maybe singular raid boss fights picked from older raids (for example queuing up for Garrosh Hellscream). If it is one boss, and I could know what boss I am signing up for before I do it, I would definitely try it. I think wing style like LFR would probably be fine but take too much time for the target audience, especially if the group is going to wipe on any boss.

I would be interested in something raiding between heroic and mythic with no lockout and puggable. Probably I would choose easy bosses that don’t require lots of coordination, no sludgefish or xaneth for example

Yes. And part of what makes raiding good is that it’s not using the M+ difficulty system.

Heroic/Mythic raiding would have a much lower audience if they were just the exact same as normal mode with 75/150% extra HP and damage.

raid+ is an awful idea that I sincerely hope never happens

So there’s a number of ways they could do it :
-for example, the first few levels let’s say 1 to 3, would be like normal, but with slightly higher stats the higher the level, then 4-6 heroic, and 7+ like mythic.
-Another way they could do it is to chose let’s say Mythic difficulty as the baseline mechanics, and have the numbers scale on the basis of the keystone level.
-They could also use affixes, just like in mythic+, which would give it a twist too.
-Or it could be as you said, and simply be like normal mode with more hp damage, which I don’t find to be the most appealing version of it.
edit : and certainly other ways…

I know I’m weirdo central over here but the idea of normal+ with very easy mechanics but the numbers keep scaling up is quite appealing to me. I don’t mind if the rewards are bad, I would be interested. I would also probably enjoy some target dummy M+ or something where the point is just optimizing your damage/healing with no movement or mechanics.

Why do you think it’s an awful idea?

This would have to be scaled in a way that it would be trivial for pugs to complete even on mythic. Nobody is going to want to rng prog +8 painsmith mythic lol

Yeah there’s a bunch of ways they could make this happen, they could have keystones for each difficulties. I’m not saying that’s how it should be, but there all kind of ways Raid+ could function.

So true I imagine any pug killer boss would be intentionally left out, but like Wrathion+10 I would be super interested in trying

Timed raids would be awful.

Like I said in some of my replies, there are a number of ways they could create it, one of the ways I mentioned was :

“-for example, the first few levels let’s say 1 to 3, would be like normal, but with slightly higher stats the higher the level, then 4-6 heroic, and 7+ like mythic.”

Of course that’s just an example.

I read your replies I just don’t think it’s a good idea. It would either need to be forced to be too easy or it would be too tedious to require people to know several bosses from every expansion

What about timed wings? And again, there are a number of ways they could go on with that, I like the mythic+ system for the form of it’s scaling (1,2,3,4,5,6, etc.), but I don’t necessarily find the timing portion as important for Raid+, not that I am against it, and I think a wings would be much more reasonable to time for your average Mythic+ enjoyer than a full raid.
