Considering it was first done by a guild with over a decade of experience with vanilla raids, and that Method planned to try for a world first MC, was beaten, and as far as I know never completed that raid, it still appears to have been more difficult than end of patch mythic, just as I said.
Not even close, not even close.
Iâm doing MC and Onyxia every week, we just did an Onyxia split and 19 and 21 manned her. The fights are in-between LFR and Normal mode. Mythic Uldir RIGHT NOW, with a raid full of Azsharaâs palace geared players is harder than MC.
They never planned on going for a world first MC.
Uh, yes that is exactly the point.
Method lost to the grindy time monster, not the raid difficulty and mechanics monster.

Glad youâve come around to my side? That was a weird way to do it by passing it off as some ânew thoughtâ you had right then. But, kudos for coming around.
Theyâre treating classic as a 2-3 year exhibit, not as a live service. So I would argue that longevity isnât a concern, and no additional content or rebalancing should be done.
People who wanted to be able to play classic want to play CLASSIC. Not some new game that looks like classic.
If you want classic+, thatâs perfectly fine, but that is a separate game. Leave Classic itself ALONE. Let the people who want to play it do so. There have already been enough compromises.
I was looking for common ground to start with. I still disagree with you on merging servers. I think they should do new servers, but Iâm skeptical about how they will do it without killing servers and server identity (via merges).
Oh, and to further illustrate my point; there are currently only 240 guilds in the world that have cleared Eternal Palace after 3 months of that raid being out in Mythic.
Thereâs over 1000 guilds that have cleared MC after 6 weeks (which includes an extremely long leveling process). I donât know why you just canât admit to being wrong.
I didnât say anywhere in this thread about wanting Classic+. Classic+ is adding content to do after Naxx that is in the spirit of vanilla wow with the same design philosophies.
Thereâs more people raiding an easier raid in a game that currently has more people playing it than people raiding the hardest raid in the game right now? Inconceivable!!
Thatâs what you want. You want to change classic. Any changes to classic mechanics such as retuning instances and such IS classic+. Thatâs what youâre asking for.
People asked for vanilla. Not a retuned vanilla. Not some hybrid nonsense. Weâve had enough of those kinds of changes already. What youâre asking for is Classic+, so just ask for that. Leave regular classic alone so that those of us who wanted to play this game can continue to do so in something at least resembling one of its original forms.
Just like with retail, once you turn classic into classic+, thereâs really no going back.
Well, the only thing that lead to Nostalriusâ and Elysiumâs downfalls was Blizzard telling them to âget off mah lawn!â. Pretty sure these would still be quite healthy today if it wasn,t for that, in spite of content not being added to those.
Getting my whole group to SM to start the dungeon is more time consuming than the actual dungeon
Not sure why people think PUGs shouldnât be able to clear. You arenât magically better the second you join a guild. The guild can build up power over time sure, but the reason why PUGs used to be so bad was because you couldnât just throw out a discord link and everything was still a new experience.
Now you have an instant full voice chat and a guy explaining in 2 minutes where every class should stand what to look out for.
Thatâs true. I find people who worry about these comparisons to be very, very scary.
I agree 100% that going forward, raid tuning is critical.
Nothing major, just increase the health of the bosses and add some damage to certain mechanics.
Right now many of the BIS items are completely wrong for raiding. mana/5 is useless when fights are so short. +healing, int are far superior. This will only be more apparent when people have tons of time to farm easy mode MC for months on end and be completely decked out. The same trend will continue into bwl and aq40, and then naxx.
Tuning is important to the overall authenticity of Vanilla. However, consider this. Blizzard might be driving away their biggest audience. Retailers. People just donât have time to spend hours and hours and hours in MC anymore - even when itâs on farm. When BWL opened up, MC was still taking us roughly 3+ hours to clear.
So if a guild wants to progress. They canât do all 3 or 4 raids in one week. They have to pick and choose. Good luck convincing people to do MC for Thunderfury when the guild is already in Naxx.
I am 100% against increasing the difficulty level of raids after they have been released. This means MC/Ony need to stay where they are at, but uptuning BWL/ZG/AQ/Naxx seems perfectly ok to me.
Agreed. Vanilla should be tuned how it was to be as authentic as possible. If that results in people finding the raids to be easy now, so be it. Blizzard canât tune how you feel about what the numbers were then.
And seriously, their biggest audience is Retailers?
I count people who started post Vanilla as Retailers - Wrath babies included The reason why I say it is because itâs all a similar mindset.
Edit: We do have someone who has done all the content at the current patch within Blizzard. Ion. But almost all of us are long gone.
